Augustina Rosales, Age 89 of Yorktown, TX formerly of Karnes City, TX passed away Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Victoria, TX. Augustina was born February 5, 1928 in Karnes City, TX to the Late Lucio and Maria Villegas Rosales. She was a homemaker and a devout member of St Cornelius Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucio and Maria Villegas Rosales; sisters, Isidra Saenz, Lupe McKaney; brothers, Santiago Rosales, Jose Rosales, and Juan Rosales.

She is survived by her sister, Pauline Vargas of Goliad; brothers, Lucio Rosales, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Santos Rosales of Corpus Christi; nieces, Janie Arguellez and husband Porfirio, Lupe Arguellez and husband Felix, Mary Pena and husband Domingo all of Yorktown; grandchildren, Hector Arguellez and wife Miranda of Yorktown and their children, Shelby and Riley and Porfirio Arguellez and wife Heather of Victoria and their child Adilynn.

A Holy Rosary will be recited Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10AM at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Karnes City, TX.  Interment will follow in the Burnell Cemetery, Burnell, TX.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Michael Pena, Michael Rosales, Henry Garcia, Jr., Roland Vargas, Felix Saenz, and Billy Villegas.

Daniel R. Mejia, Jr., Age 83 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Kenedy, TX. Daniel was born on December 4, 1933 in Cuero, TX to the late Daniel, Sr. and Isabel Ramirez Mejia. Daniel married Natalia Farias on January 16, 1958 in Karnes County, he retired from the City of Kenedy; was a Pastor for the Assembly of God in Kenedy; and a proud Veteran of the US NAVY serving during the Korean Conflict.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel, Sr. and Isabel Ramirez Mejia; great-grandson, Ryan DeLeon and a brother Antonio Mejia.

He is survived by his loving wife, Natalia Farias Mejia of Kenedy; daughters, Mary Jane Gonzales and husband Richard of Kenedy, Gloria M. Barrientez and husband Matias of Kenedy; sons, Daniel Mejia, III and wife Anna of Kenedy, Antonio Mejia and wife Priscilla of Kenedy, 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Juan Ruiz and Rev. Hector Oroxon officiating. Services will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Juan Ruiz and Rev. Hector Oroxon officiating.  Interment will follow in the Loma Alta Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Joe Edward “Coche” Cantu, Jr., of Kenedy, Texas, born February 17, 1937 to Jose Maria Cantu and Carmen Mireles Cantu passed away on      Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his residence surrounded by family at the age of 80 . Coche was a member of the Kenedy GI Forum, Lulac, the Sportsman Club, was a Little League Head Coach and coached the Kenedy Kings for many years and won a State Championship. He is preceded in death by his son, Danny Cantu, his sister, Elida Garza, brothers, Manuel Cantu and Arcadio Padron, Jr. and also his parents. He is survived by his wife that he married on December 17, 1983, Maria Amelia Cantu; his two daughters, JoAnn Cantu Lomas, of Kenedy, TX and Carmen Jo Hernandez, of Kileen, TX; son, Michael Cantu, of Kenedy, TX and adopted son, David Lee Cantu, of Kenedy, TX; he raised: Crescencio Lazcano, Magalena Lazcano,  and Francisca Lazcano; sisters, Emelda Cantu, of Kenedy, TX; Margie (Jerry) Villarreal, Sinton, TX and Mary (Albino) Albiar,  Runge, TX; brothers, Jimmy (Isabel) Garcia, of  Canyon, TX, David  (Janie) Ozuna Sr., of Houston, TX and Guadalupe (Bertha) Ozuna, of Corpus Christi, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Evelyn Ray (Perkins) Spencer, Age 84 of Karnes City, TX passed away August 18, 2017 in Kenedy, TX. Evelyn was born on July 25, 1933 in El Campo, TX to the late Sam and Pomelia (Adams) Perkins.  She married Ernest James Spencer, Sr. on March 7, 1956 in Kenedy. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest James Spencer; parents, Sam and Pomelia (Adams) Perkins; daughter, Edith Spencer; grandsons,Rudy James Spencer, Jr. Devan Haynes and numerous brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Haynes and husband Collins of Atkins, Yukiko Spencer of Kenedy, Evelyn Spencer of Minnesota, Terri Haynes of Karnes City, Ernestine Spencer of San Antonio, Annie Glenn of Spokane, Jody McClendon and husband Corey of Kenedy; sons, Ernest Spencer, Jr. and wife Jessica of Karnes City, Rudy Spencer and wife Cynthia of Karnes City; sisters, Mildred Houston of San Antonio, Stella Williams of San Antonio; brother, Leonard Perkins of San Antonio and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  A Prayer service will be held Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 6PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Bobbie Jean Baker Lozano, of Kenedy, Texas was born on February 24, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Robert Earl Baker and Mamie Compian Baker passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the age of 76. Bobbie graduated from Sam Houston High School, Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Rosalio F. “Chalio” Salinas, Sr.; her daughters, Theresa Booth, Veronica Lozano, and Rhonda Lozano, all of Houston, TX; son, Christopher Anthony Lozano, of Houston, TX; and other relatives. Aurora Davila Gonzales, of Kenedy, Texas was born on January 6, 1943 in Corpus Christi to Frank and Theresa Rodriguez Davila passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the age of 74. Aurora was preceded in death by her husband, Matias Gonzales on Feburary 3, 2017. She is survived by her son, Matias(Martha) Gonzales, Jr. , grandsons, Gabriel Gonzales, of Kenedy, TX and Matias Gonzales, III; sisters, Angie (Alfred) Amador, of Kenedy, TX, Consuela (Rene) Sotelo, of Temple, TX; Nicholasa Rodriguez, of Kenedy, TX; brother, Angel and Rosie Davila, of La Grange, TX and other relatives. Larry “Bosco” Dean Vickery, of Edna, Texas born in Beeville, Texas to John and Bertha Donnell Vickery passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Victoria, TX at the age of 62. Bosco is preceded in death by his parents; his uncle, Charles and his aunt, Cleo ”Bill” Moses, and  his brothers: Don Vickery, John Vickery, Billie Ray Vickery. William Mauritz “Bill” Anderson , age 81,  of Floresville , TX died Monday, August 7, 2017 after a long illness.  Bill was born to LeRoy and Ima Riddle Anderson on Feb. 10, 1936 in Austin, TX.   Bill married Linda Huddler Dec. 30, 1956 in Beeville, TX.   He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Army National Guard.  Bill was also a retired truck driver.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Anderson, of Floresville, TX; daughter, Sherri (Ben) Kruciak of Floresville, TX;  Sons:  Wayne (Barbara) Anderson of Portland, TX and  John Mauritz (Pamela) Anderson of Seguin, TX;  Sister, Nelda Pahmiyer of Edna,TX; grandchildren: Tiffany, Megan, Alyssa, Heather, Rebecca, Dara, Luke, Will, & Levi.  He is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Janelda Faye Anderson.  Visitation will be held at the Eckols Chapel in Kenedy, TX on Tuesday , August 8, 2017 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Selsa R. Bryan, Age 74 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 in San Antonio, TX. Selsa was born on April 6, 1943 in Kenedy to the late Adislario and Ignacia Castillo Rodriguez.  On June 22, 2002 she married Bays Bryan in Karnes City, TX. She was a home health provider, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a member of the Choate Baptist Church in Choate, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Adislario and Ignacia Castillo Rodriguez; sisters, Gloria Mendez, Frances Espinoza, Emma “Nena” Garcia, Mary Espinoza; and brother, Vicente Rodriguez.

She is survived by her husband, Bays Bryan of Kenedy; daughters, Lydia Garcia Barrientez and husband George of Kenedy, Marina Fuentes Morales and husband Jason of Karnes City; sons, Jose Alejandro Garcia and wife Rayline of Karnes City, Gilbert Garcia and wife Sharon of Kenedy, Juan Fuentes, Jr and wife Regina of Visalia, California, George Fuentes and wife Haydee of Karnes City, sister, Gregoria Perez of Abilene; brothers, Gabriel Rodriguez of Runge, Ruben Rodriguez of Beeville, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11AM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.

Rena Ann Laudette Patton, age 71, of Kenedy, Texas, passed away July 21, 2017 in Kenedy, Texas. She was born on March 12, 1946 in Tacoma, WA, to the late Mike and Tilly Jane Smith Laudette.  On September 29, 1968, she married Clifford Neill Patton in San Antonio, Texas.  She was a nurses aid, a homemaker and a member of The Word Fellowship Church.  She is preceded in death by parents, Mike and Tilly Jane Smith Laudette; sisters, Elsie Forman and Patsy Smith; and three deceased brothers.

She is survived by her loving husband, Clifford Neill Patton of Kenedy; daughters, Rose Jane Macklin of Beeville, Texas and Callie Marie Nelson and husband, Christopher of Kenedy, Texas; and sister, Evelyn Wade of Llano, Texas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 9A.M. to 11A.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Services will begin at 11A.M., Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Walter Hill, III officiating.  Interment will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery.
