Linda Kay Jaeger

Linda Kay JaegerLinda Kay Jaeger, age 67 of Leander, TX formerly of Kenedy, TX passed away on October 23, 2014 in Round Rock, TX.   She was born on September 26, 1947 in Tulsa OK to the late William H. and Lillie Routh Beardsley.  She married Richard Jaeger on January 24, 1970 in Kenedy, TX who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 2007.   She graduated from Texas A&I in 1969 and was a retired accountant.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Jaeger; and parents William H. and Lillie Routh Beardsley.

She is survived by her sons, Brad Jaeger and wife Trish of Mesquite, Eric Jaeger of Leander; sister, Carol Martin and husband George of Christine; brother, Bill Beardsley and wife Louise of Cibolo.

A Visitation was held Tuesday, October 28 from 6PM to 8PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 1PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Trey Hill officiating.  Interment will follow in the Karnes County Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Estella Adelaida Villarreal

VILLARREALEstella Adelaida Trevino Villarreal, Age 89 of El Oso, TX passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2014.  She was born on October 15, 1925 in Hobson, TX to the late Francisco and Emma Salinas Trevino. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jose Gonzalo Villarreal, Sr.; parents, Francisco and Emma Salinas Trevino; sisters , Elsa Leal, and Eva Trevino; brothers, Alvaro Trevino, Alfonzo Trevino, Adolio Trevino and Art Trevino.

She is survived by her daughters, Blanca DeLeon and Husband Albert of Mineral, Tessie Doblar and husband Bill of George West; sons, Joe G. Villarreal, Jr. and wife Dana of Calallen, Armando Villarreal of Premont, Javier Villarreal of El Oso, Jimmy Villarreal of El Oso, Albert Villarreal and wife Margot of El Oso, Epifanio Villarreal, III and wife Raquel of Pawnee; sisters Elvia Trevino of EL Oso, Emma Hartley of Schertz, 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee, TX with the Rev. Romeo Salinas officiating.  Interment will follow in the De Ntra Sra De Guadalupe Cemetery in Pawnee, TX

Serving as pallbearers will be her sons and son in laws.

John Henry Davidson, Jr.

 

John Henry Davidson, Jr Obit PicJohn Henry Davidson, Jr., was born August 20, 1923, in Mendoza, Caldwell County, Texas to John Henry Davidson and Mattie Gertrude Scott Davidson.  His father was a cotton farmer and worked at a hardware store making buggies.  The Davidsons moved to Coy City in 1924 to be near his mother’s family.  They purchased their own farm and they, with the help of their children, paid for it during the depression.  John graduated from Karnes City High School in 1942, during World War II and joined the Army Air Force in November 1942 serving for over three years being discharged in February 1945.  He served in several places, all in the US, as an Air Force mechanic.  He met Norene “Peaches” Hunt in the fall of 1944, and they were married July 15, 1945, in Choate, Karnes County, Texas, where she was raised.  He was a farmer and rancher for more than 50 years and was farm manager for Beasley Estate Farms for 15 years.  He served as trustee of the Pawnee Independent School District, a member of the Pawnee Lions Club, and on the Bee County Appraisal District board.  He resided in Pawnee from 1945-1965, in Beeville from 1965-1980, and back to Pawnee from 1980 until his death.  He was a member of the Pawnee Baptist Church for many years and later a member of the First Methodist Church of Pawnee.  John is predeceased by his parents Henry and Mattie Davidson, a sister Laura Elizabeth Hemme, a daughter Marsha Davidson Holt, and his beloved wife Peaches.  He is survived by two brothers, Scott Davidson of Coy City and Dee Davidson of Floresville, his daughter Laura “Penny” Davidson Craig (Dr. William H. Craig), a grandson John William Craig, three great grandchildren (Iain, Matthew, and Jonica Craig), and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends whom he loved.

 

Family Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 5PM to 8PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Harvey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pawnee Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Welkner, Elton Lieke, Tommy LaCour, David Hemme, Scottie Davidson, and Ricky Davidson.

 

Memorials may be made to the Pawnee Cemetery Association.

 

David Wayne Cooksey

David Wayne Cooksey, Age 61 of Kenedy, TX passed away on September 29, 2014 in Kenedy, TX.  David was born on February 16, 1953 in Clarksville, TX to John Robert and Bernice Louise Skidmore Cooksey.  He was a proud Veteran of the US ARMY serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War.  On April 17, 1995 he married Sydney Irene Tenberg in Beeville, TX who preceded him in death on November 30, 2009.

He is preceded in death by his wife Sydney Irene Cooksey, and his father John Robert Cooksey.

He is survived by his mother, Bernice Louise Cooksey of Beeville, TX; son James Cooksey of Kenedy, TX; stepchildren Missy McNeese of Three Rivers, TX; Marie Williams of Chaote, TX; Stacy Adams of Round Rock, TX; Richard Lerch, III of Karnes City, TX and numerous grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 12PM to 1PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Memorial Services will also be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Singleton Officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery.

Gary Gene Grady

Gary Gene Grady, Age 65 of Choate, TX passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Karnes City, TX.  Gary was born on August 22, 1947 in Pecos, TX to the late Cletus G., Sr. and Letha George Grady.  He owned and operated a service station in Silverton, TX before retiring to Choate, TX.  He graduated from Flomot High school in 1966, was an Eagle Boy Scout, and of the Methodist Faith.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents Cletus G., Sr. and Letha George Grady.

He is survived by his brothers, Cletus Grady and wife Margie of Choate, TX; Mike Grady and wife Annette of McGregor, TX; and nephews, Nolan Grady and Ryan Grady.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 5PM to 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.   Graveside Services will be Monday, October 20, 2014 at 10AM in the Silverton Cemetery in Silverton, TX with the Rev. Rance Young officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Comer, Jay Young, Mike Young, Wayne Nance, John Burson, and Jimmy Burson.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, the Silverton Cemetery Association, or the Silverton Fire Department.

Austin Lane Cruz

Austin Lane Cruz, Age 18, of Kenedy, TX passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014 in Kenedy, TX. Austin was born on October 24, 1995 in Beeville, TX to Amado and Stacy Ann Sosa Cruz.   He loved working cattle; working on the ranch and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Austin is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Joe and Margarita Cruz, and a brother Aaron Lee Cruz.

He is survived by his parents Amado and Stacy Ann Cruz, maternal grandparents Demetrio and Josie Sosa, sister Syndal Logan Cruz all of Kenedy, TX and a host of family and friends.

A Rosary will be recited Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 7 PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the Loma Alta Cemetery.

Samantha Nicole Charles

 

Sam. NicSamantha Nicole Charles of Runge, TX was born October 12, 1994 in Victoria, TX to Ricky and Maria Reyna Charles.  She was a member of Heavenly Gates FWC and a waitress at Tacqueria Jalisco #5. 

She is survived by her Parents Ricky and Maria Charles, daughter, Kendall Hernandez; son Anthony “Lucky” Hernandez;  sister Joselyn Decker; brothers Daniel Decker and Elijah Robert Charles all of Runge, TX.   She is also survived by  a host of family and friends and she will be greatly missed.

A Prayer Service will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 7 PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be  Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10 AM at Heavenly Gates FWC in Runge, TX with the Rev. Robert L. Charles officiating.  Interment will follow in the Runge Cemetery.

Eldon Wayne Johns

Eldon Wayne Johns, Age 83 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014.  He was born on January 22, 1931 in Dallas, TX to the William and Vivian Johns.  He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy for 25 ½ years retiring as a U.S. Naval Master Chief.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Johns and Vivian Williams, step-father, George Williams and sister, Doris Macy.

He is survived by his loving wife Elsa Castro Johns of Kenedy, TX; daughters, Felicia Rayment and husband Chris of Johnson City, TN; Peggy Farias and husband Ben of Pawnee, TX; Micki Martin of Oklahoma City, OK; Litza Doryland of Colorado, sons, Javier Johns and wife Leticia of Floresville, TX; Will Johns and fiancée Melissa Soliz of Kenedy, TX;  sister, Marie Payne of Rockport, TX;  brother, Charles Johns of Rising Star, TX; and grandchildren,  Kayla Johns, Isiah Johns, Jada Johns, Jiannni Johns, Jordin Johns, Javier Johns, Jr., Nyla Rayment, Benancio Farias, Gabriella Farias, Marceo Farias, and Elianna Farias.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Will Johns officiating.  Interment will follow in the Choate Cemetery with Military Honors.

Andrew M. Golden

Andrew M. Golden, Age 88 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in Kenedy, TX.  He was born on November 15, 1925 to the late Rhoda Henry and Maggie Lena Rains Golden in Marthaville, LA.  He was a retired car salesman, a member of Masonic Lodge #774, a Veteran of WWII, and of the Baptist Faith.  On January 28, 1955 Andrew married Martha Ann Grady in Karnes City, TX who proceded him in death on May 9, 2007.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rhoda Henry and Maggie Lena Rains Golden, his beloved wife Martha Ann Grady Golden and a sister Virginia Faye Horne

He is survived by his son Grady Golden of Kenedy, TX, grandchildren, LeeAnn Lopez and husband Tommy, and Matthew Golden and wife Luanne of Kenedy, TX and a sister Margaret Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA.

A Family Visitation will be held Wed. Oct. 8, 2014 from 6P.M. to 8P.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be held Thurs. Oct. 9, 2014 @ 10A.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.   Interment will follow in The Butler Family Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Polly E. Porter

POLLY PORTER_0001Polly E. Porter was born on October 6, 1919 in Quitman, Texas.  She was the only daughter of C.O. and Mabel Goldsmith.  Polly was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, a beloved and active community member, and a Loving Mother of three children.

Polly went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 5, 2014.  She is survived by her children, William Donald Porter and wife Elaine, Sherry Lynn White, and Suzanne Porter Brown and husband Edward; by her grandchildren Elisabeth Porter Golden and husband Geoffrey, Paul Douglas Brown and Carolyn Suzanne Brown.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, October , 2014 from 7 PM to 8 PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be Wednesday, October 8, 2014 @ 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Kenedy, TX with the Rev. Homer Hanna Officiating.  Interment will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery.
