Odilia G. Gonzales

Odilia G. Gonzales, Age 90 of Karnes City, TX passed away on March 11, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Odilia was born on February 14, 1933 in Millersview, TX to the late Patricio Gonzales and Jesusa Garza Gonzales.  She married Ramon Gonzales, Sr. on September 21, 1952 in Karnes City, TX; was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, retired from Pawnee ISD after 28 years of providing devout dietary services and continued providing her dietary services to many of the nursing homes in the Karnes County area that include, John Paul II Nursing Home, Restful Acres, and Karnes City Health and Rehab. She was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church  and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded by her husband, parents, daughter, Mary Molina’ brothers, Guadalupe Gonzales, Arturo Gonzales and Jose A. Gonzales.

She is survived by her children, Irma Arenas of Kenedy, Modesta and husband Juan of Karnes City, Susie Martinez of Karnes City, Lupe Badillo of Louisiana; sons, Ramon Gonzales and wife Sylvia of Karnes City, Johnny Gonzales and wife JoAnn of Karnes City, Armando Gonzales and wife Lydia of El Oso, brother, Ernest Gonzales of Mesquite; 33 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many dear family members and friends.  

A Memorial Rosary will be recited Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  Memorial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  Inurnment will follow at the Nell Cemetery in Nell, TX.

Seferino G. Serna, Sr.

Seferino G. Serna, Sr. a lifelong resident of Pawnee, Texas, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 13, 2023 at home in Ray Point, Texas at the age of 88 years 7 months and 14 days.

Seferino was born, August 26, 1934 in El Oso, Texas, the son of Aurelio Serna, Sr. and Luisa Gonzales Serna.  He married Elida Villanueva on June 10, 1956 in Pawnee, Texas.  Mr. Serna was a hardworking farmer and rancher, a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather.

Seferino is survived by his beloved wife of over 66 years, Elida Serna of Pawnee, TX; his sons, Roque Serna and wife Lillian from Nell, TX, Rene Serna and wife Delia of Beaumont, TX; his daughters, Estella Perez and husband Thomas of Kenedy, TX, Imelda Marin and husband Joe from Ray Point, TX, Ilda Serna from Pawnee, TX, Irene Aguirre and partner Richard Moya of Three Rivers, TX; his brother, Dionicio Serna of Guymon, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Anita Serna from Pawnee, TX; brother-in-law, Servando Villanueva of Garden City, Kansas.  He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren plus 2 on the way.

Mr Serna is preceded in death by his son, Seferino Serna, Jr.; his parents, his sisters, Maria Villanueva, Felicita Smith and his brothers, Elifonso, Fernando and Isaac Serna.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, 2023 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel from 5PM to 7:30PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:30 PM.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM ay Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee, TX with the Rev. Richard Zielensky officiating.  Interment will follow in the Nell Cemetery in Nell, TX.

Serving as Pallbearers are: Diesel S. Marin, Daniel A. Munos, Gilbert Aguirre, Jr., Jonathan Serna, Michael F. Serna, Robert Serna, Fernando Serna, Jr., and Anthony R. Ruiz, Jr. 

Zachary Tyler Decas

Zachary Tyler Decas was taken from this world on or about December 5, 2022.
Zachary was born on April 18, 1989 at Otto Kaiser Hospital in Kenedy Texas.
Zachary’s family includes: Son, Aiden Christensen, Mother, Ruby Delaine (Dee Dee) Remmers, Father, Craig Decas, Brother, Joshua Decas, Nephew, Jayton Cole Decas and Niece, Jalynn Decas. Aunts and Uncles, Brandi and David Blevins, Stacy and Kody Kanak, and Kay Vick, Cousins, Kendall Kanak, Lincoln, Brooklyn, and Maverick Blevins, Kristin Bloskas and Chelsi Terry, Grandparents, Joe(Red) and June Decas, Preceded in death by grandparents, Nettie and Bobby Remmers and Uncle, Ron Vick.
Zachary was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend. He had a kind soul, was a loyal friend, and had a knack for making people laugh. He was taken too soon and he will be missed.
Services will be held Saturday March 11, 2023 at Eckol’s Funeral Home in Kenedy at 10 am. Lunch will be served following the service at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Karnes City from 12-3.
