Paula Marie Martinez of Kenedy, Texas was born on June 12, 1975 in Kingsville, TX to Gloria Reyes Cavazos and Pedro Cavazos passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the age of 45. Mrs. Martinez worked for the Karnes County Natonal  Bank, Karnes City, TX . She is survived by her husband of ten years: Alfred Martinez. Services pending.

Mary Ann Arenas

Mary Ann Arenas of Kenedy, Texas was born to Isabel Asebedo and Rosa Salinas Asebedo on December 25, 1961 and passed away on December 29, 2020 at the age of 59. Mrs. Arenas is preceded in death by her mother: Rosa Asebedo, her grandson: Dante Arenas and her sister: Lydia Rivera. She is  survived by her husband: Carlos Arenas Sr. of Kenedy, TX; her sons: Carlos Arenas Jr., Jose Arenas, Matthew Arenas; daughter: Ashley Torres and five grandchildren. She was a beloved wife and mother who took pride in her family. One of her greatest passions was cooking, she loved to gather her family for long visits with barbecue and plenty of music. She prided herself on living a simple country life and was proud of where she came from.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2020 from 4:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Funeral Services for Sunday, January 3, 2020 at 7:30p.m. at Eckols Chapel with Rev. Norbert Hermann of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church officiating. Services to conclude in chapel. Private inurnment for a later date. 2021 .

Armida Garcia Cano

Armida Garcia Cano, Age 86 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 in San Antonio, TX. Armida was born on January 5, 1934 in Kenedy to the late Higinio and Ysabel Coy Garcia. She married Lupe Cano on August 8, 1953 in Kenedy, retired from EODC Headstart Center after 18 years of faithful service, volunteered at John Paul II Nursing Home, was a member of Our Lady Queen of Catholic Church and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many who will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lupe M. Cano, Sr.; parents, Higinio and Ysabel Coy Garcia; son Lupe M. Garcia, Jr.; 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Alice Saenz and husband Felix of Kenedy, Norma Wishert and husband Kavin of Humble, Cynthia Romero of Floresville; sons, Enrique Pedroza and wife Anita of Karnes City, Richard Pedroza and wife Diana of Kenedy; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A Holy Rosary will be recited Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 10AM with Funeral Services at 10:30 AM in the Eckols Chapel with the Rev. Norbert Hermann & Rev. Paschal Bergin officiating. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Matthew Hinojosa, Zeke Jacques, Timothy Jacques, Jacob Hinojosa, Justin Pedroza.

Linda Huddler Anderson

Linda Huddler Anderson, Age 83 of Floresville, Texas, passed away Friday, December 25, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. Linda was born on May 20, 1937 in Kenedy, TX to the late John and Becky Vickery Huddler. She married William “Bill” M. Anderson on December 30, 1956 in Beeville, TX. Linda was a loving wife, mother, Grandmother (MeMaw), and Great Grandmother who loved her family.   She prepared the greatest country home cooked meals, loved to crochet, and was an avid bowler. She loved her animals, especially her cat, Cassie.

She is preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” M. Anderson, parents, John and Becky Vickery Huddler, daughter, Janelda Faye Anderson and a sister, Alice Faye Dilmore.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Kruciak and husband Ben of Floresville; Son, Carl Wayne Anderson and wife Barbara of Corpus Christi and Son, John Anderson and wife Pamela of Seguin; brother, Johnnie Huddler and wife Mary of Houston, TX. Granddaughters: Tiffany, Megan, Alyssa, Heather, Rebecca and Dara; Grandson: Luke and Great-Grandsons: Greyson and Uzziah.

Family Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 11AM to 12PM with Services beginning at 12PM in the Eckols Chapel. Interment will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Rev. Manuel De Los Santos of Karnes City, Texas was born on June 3, 1952 in Runge, Texas to Ruben and Olivia Rodriguez De Los Santos passed away on December 24, 2020 in San Antonio  at the age of 68. Mr. De Los Santos was a minister of two churches: Calvary Family Praise in Kenedy, Texas and the Choate Pentocostal Church in Choate, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter: Rebecca De Los Santos and his two brothers and sister-in-law: George De Los Santos and his wife Lillie and Ruben De Los Santos Jr. He is survived by his wife who he married on September 13, 1971 (49 years): Sylvia Garza De Los Santos of Karnes City, TX; his children: Josepha (Jose) Olvera of Pearsall, TX, Sylvia(Frank) Huerta Lopez of Prescott, AZ, Eliseo De Los Santos (Zanetta Sanchez) of San Antonio, TX, Priscilla (Pete) Sanchez Jr of Kenedy, TX, Esmeralda De Los Santos, Karnes City, TX, Manuel( Noraida) De Los Santos Jr. of Karnes City, TX; a grandson that he raised: Manuel Eliseo (Jackie) De Los Santos; sister: Olivia (Javier) De Los Santos Elias of Pawnee, TX; brothers: Escillas(Jo Ann) De Los Santos, Sammy De Los Santos, Daniel De Los Santos, Arturo (Lucinda) De Los Santos, Lee (Lorena) De Los Santos, and Alejandro (Lucia) De Los Santos; 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Family Visitation will begin Wed. Dec. 30, 2020 at 5PM to 6:30PM with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM at the UPLCII Tabernacle at 618 Dewitt Street, Kenedy, TX.   Funeral Services will be Thurs. Dec. 31, 2020 at 10AM  at the UPLCII Tabernacle at 618 Dewitt Street, Kenedy, TX. Following the Services at UPLCII there will a procession passing by his  two Churchs that Rev. Manuel De Los Santos pastored leading to the Interment/ final resting place here on earth at the De Los Santos Family Ranch Cemetery in Karnes City, TX. Pallbearers: Isaiah De Los Santos, Arturo De Los Santos, lee De Los Santos, Sammy De Los Santos, Alex De Los Santos, Danny De Los Santos, Eliseo De Los Santos, Manuel De Los Santos Jr., Javier Elias, Jerry De Los Santos. He is survived by his sister: Leticia Ramon (Eddie Reyes) of Kenedy,TX; his brother: Michael V. Ramon and wife Maria of Pampa, TX; 5 nephews, 2 nieces and 2 great nephews. Brandon Keith Rodriguez, Age 31 of Kenedy, TX passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020. Brandon was born on January 3, 1989 in Kenedy, TX to Richard Rodriguez and Monica Fields. He was an Equipment Operator for U.S. Ecology a loving Father, Son, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Nephew, friend to many and of the Catholic Faith.

He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather Domingo J. Rodriguez.

He is survived by his Mother, Monica Fields and husband Darren; Father, Richard Rodriguez and wife Sandy, daughters, Madison Marie Antoinette Rodriguez, Emmalynn Anastacia Rodriguez; brother, Nicholas “Nick” Rodriguez; step-sisters, Sarah Fields, Tiffany Fields; step-brother, Jacob Fields; Paternal Grandmother, Doris S. Rodriguez; nephew, Dalton Aaron Paul Rodriguez; numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends.

Tomas Diaz Jr. (U.S. Army Veteran) of Kenedy, Texas was born on August 19, 1948 in Kenedy, Texas to Tomas Diaz and Gregoria Luna Diaz passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 72 years, 3 months, and 25 days. Mr. Diaz was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son: Tomas Diaz III; grandchildren: Hailey Nicole Diaz, Addison Paige Diaz and Kaleb Rene Diaz; brother: David Diaz who resided with him; former spouse: Frances Massey; and other relatives.
