Ricardo Reyna Jr. of Kenedy, Texas was born on September 12, 1971 in Yorktown, Texas passed away on October 7, 2020 at the age of 49 in San Antonio, TX. Ricardo is preceded in death by his father: Ricardo Reyna. He is survived his mother:  Sanaida (Jose) Garcia of Kenedy,TX ; by his daughter: Ashley Reyna (Gary) Everson of Newark, Ohio, his son: Jimmy Bahnsen-Reyna of Newark, Ohio; his former spouse: Amy Bahnsen Collier; his sisters: Emily (Mario) Alaniz of Corpus Christi, TX and Leonor (Henry) Guerra, of Kenedy, TX; brothers: Thomas Reyna, Albert (Sophia) Garcia of Kenedy, TX, and Hector (Irma) Garcia of Runge, TX; nieces and nephews and great uncle to : Adryana Barkley, Samantha Espinoza, Paloma Espinoza, Gabriel Espinoza, Matthew Espinoza, Saragosa J.R. Alaniz, Lila Guerra, Lillian Guerra, Lauren Guerra, Destynee Hernandez, Draeden Reyna, Aaliyah Reyna, Gabriella Reyna, Nicolas Reyna, Amadeus Garcia and Asael Garcia; and other relatives.Visitation Hours will be held Monday, October 12, 2020 from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Funeral services Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Kirby Rogers

On Wednesday, September 30, 2020, Kirby Rogers, loving father of 3 children, passed away at age 56.  Kirby was born March 19, 1964, in Kenedy, Texas to Kenneth and Annadel Rogers.  He is preceded in death by his parents.  Kirby is survived by his 3 children, Kendel, Kaylee, and Jack who he dearly loved, his brother Kirk (Pam) Rogers of Haslet Texas, sister Karissa (Patrick) Jarzombek of Falls City Texas, Sallie (Roy) Erwin of Kyote Texas and many nieces, nephews, cousins.  He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and worked for GTE, Verizon, and various other mergers.  Kirby loved spending his Saturday afternoons watching Longhorn football, working in his garden or supporting his children in their endeavors. He loved his family, being outdoors, and making people smile. His goofy smile, compassionate personality, and generous spirit will be deeply missed.  A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by The Holy Rosary on Monday, October 5th, 2020 at Eckosl Funeral Home Chapel in Kenedy, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 6,2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kenedy, Texas. Interment will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy, TX with a reception to follow in the Falls City Diner in Falls City, TX.

Marsha Jean Brown Alvear

Marsha Jean Brown Alvear, Age 41 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 in Kenedy, TX. Marsha was born on July 5, 1979 in Floresville, TX to Morris, Sr. and Melody Brown. She attended and graduated from Kenedy High School, married Anthony Alvear on February 24, 2006, was a Secretary for Brown Automotive Body Shop, and a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

She is preceded in death by Grandparents, Cecil and Betty Brown; Step-Grandfather, Wayne Krause; Uncle, Jerry Brown; cousin’s, Jimmy “PeeWee” Bingham, III, and Henry Henkes, Jr.

She is survived by her loving husband, Anthony Manuel Alvear of Karnes City; parents, Morris, Sr. and Melody Brown of Kenedy; daughter, Melody Faith Alvear of Karnes City; sisters, Molly and Jason Parks of Kenedy, Betty and Chris Johnson of Kenedy; brothers, Morris, Jr. and Alexa Brown of Kenedy, Connor Brown of Kenedy; father and mother in law Noberto and Hope Alvear of Kenedy; sister-in-laws, Debra Lee Alvear of Kenedy, Viviana and Frank Vera of Karnes City, Norma Molina and Jim Lott, III of Karnes City; and numerous loved nieces and nephews.

Reagan Bryan

Reagan Bryan of Kenedy, Texas died on September 27, 2020 at the age of 71. Reagan was born on January 16, 1949 in Beeville, Texas to Melvin V. “Cooter” Bryan and Hazel V. Sammons Bryan.  Reagan graduated from Tuloso Midway High School in 1967 and proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. Upon being Honorably discharged from the United States Coast Guard Reagan spent his life working in the oilfield, truck driving, worked as  a mechanic, along with raising his 2 children; and was a member of the Church of Christ in Kenedy, TX. He took much joy in spending time with his only grandchild, Noah. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dale St. John; nephew, Rex St. John; and niece, Barbie Bryan. Survivors include son, Craig Bryan of Sheffied, Alabama; daughter, Kristi Perales and husband Jorge of Port Lavaca, Texas; and grandson, Noah Perales and wife Bailey of Victoria, Texas. Brothers Bays Bryan of Kenedy, Texas; Roy Bryan of Florence, Alabama; Richard Bryan of Hallsville, Texas; and Vaughn Bryan of San Antonio, Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces. Salome Ramirez Diaz

Salome Ramirez Diaz of Kenedy, Texas was born on March 30, 1947 in Kenedy, Texas to Isidoro Diaz and Celvia Ramirez Diaz passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the age of 73. Mr. Diaz is survived by his former spouse: Josefita V. Juan Diego Guzman Sr. of Kenedy, Texas was born on November 12, 1934 in Kenedy, Texas to Gregorio Serra Guzman and Julia Garza Guzman passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in Yorktown at the age of 86. Mr. Guzman was preceded in death  by his parents,  his first wife Santos; his sisters: Lucia Guzman Janssen, Amelia Guzman Paredes, Josefina Guzman Gonzalez, Maria Guzman Escobedo; his brothers: Emilio Guzman, Felix Guzman.  He is survived by his second wife Elida M. Guzman; his daughter: Mary Ann Guzman Perez of Kenedy, TX, son: Juan Lopez Guzman Jr. and wife Lavonne Murphy-Guzman of Kenedy, TX, his grandchildren: Lori Ann Perez and Cory James Perez  both of Kenedy, TX, Carlos Guzman of San Antonio, TX, Grace Guzman (Vinnie) Ynciarte of San Antonio,TX and Juan Guzman III of San Antonio, TX; sister: Rumalda Guzman Cruz of Kenedy, TX; brother, Herberto Guzman of Kenedy, TX and Jose Guzman of Des Moines Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Gregoria Garza Munos, of Kenedy, Texas was born on May 25, 1937 in Kenedy, Texas to Luis Garza and Santana Morin Garza passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020 at the age of 83. She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Gregorio Munos of Kenedy,TX; her children: Andres (Christine) Munos of Louise, TX, Maria Munos (Steven) Martinez of Kenedy, TX, Juan Alonso(Juanita) Munos Sr. of Pawnee,TX, Luis (Sylvia) Munos of Pawnee, TX, Adaulia Munos (Roy) Cano of Kenedy, TX, Gregorio (Yazmin)Munos Jr. of Pasadena, TX; 17 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 5 sisters; 1 brother; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Joyce Estelle Maynard

Joyce Estelle Maynard, age 91 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Wed. Sept. 16, 2020 in Live Oak, TX. Joyce was born on August 22, 1929 in Crane, TX to the late Walter Raymond and Mable Bertha Flynn McGee. She married Horace Maynard on June 12, 1948 in Kilgore, TX. Joyce worked as a Loan and Investment Officer at First Nichols National Bank for 28 years. She taught children for years in Sunday School. Then she attended Ann Hunt’s class, and after Ann passed away Joyce became the teacher for the Mary of Bethany Class. Joyce was a member of the choir, a strong member of the WMU, she was on a number of committees and a member of the Senior Adult Committee. For the last couple of years she taught the younger women of the church every Friday morning at her home and truly loved all of them. She attended a small group on Sunday evenings at Mary Lou Falks home and had a prayer meeting at her house on Wednesday evenings. Joyce was a devout member of First Baptist Church, Kenedy and a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and a great friend to many. She was preceded in death by parents Walter Raymond and Mable Bertha Flynn McGee; husband, Horace Maynard, son Ronald David Maynard; and a brother, Denny Ray McGee. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Suzanne Turnipseed of Allen, TX; son, Glen Carlton Maynard ( wife Shelia) of Gunter, TX; and daughter-in-law Jeanie Maynard of Spring, Tx, 5 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2:30 to 4:00 pm with Services beginning at 4:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church, Kenedy, TX. Rev. Matt Singleton, Rev. Tim Williams, and Rev. Elline Alma Fenner Schmidt

Elline Alma Fenner Schmidt, age 87 of Kenedy, TX passed away on September 16, 2020 in Kenedy, TX. Elline was born July 9. 1933 to the late Carl and Ida Rippstein Fenner in Lenz, TX.   Elline grew up In the Lenz community and her family then moved to Kenedy. She graduated from Kenedy High School in 1951; married Monroe Schmidt, Jr. on Sept. 21, 1955 and together had 5 children, Cherry, Terry, Merry, Carey, and Laurey. Elline became a young widow when her husband Monroe was killed in a tragic accident on April 9, 1969. She raised their children working hard at The Advance and Kenedy Times Newspapers, A.S.C.O. Community Council and Chevron, taking them to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church faithfully, actively involved in her children’s activities as a Brownie & Girl Scout Leader, president of friends of Kenedy Library, member of P.T.A., and a Karnes County Reserve Officer. Elline unfortunately had a major stroke in October of 1979. She remained at home and lived the last nine years of her life at John Paul II Nursing home before going to be with her Lord and Savior. She will be keenly missed and will be always remembered for her loving Smile.

Elline is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Ida Rippstein Fenner; husband, Monroe Schmidt, Jr.; daughter, Merry Carol Beck; son, Carey Carl Schmidt, son in law; Roy Dale Pargmann; fraternal grandparents, Fritz and Alma Fenner; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Meta Rippstein; and brother and sister in law, Elroy and Ardenella Fenner.

Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kolin Schmidt, Carl Schmidt, Roland “Tres” Beck, III, Michael Wishert, Ken Taylor, Waylon Windland, and Robert Schmidt.

Rolando A. Escamilla

Rolando A. Escamilla, of Pawnee, TX born on July 12, 1960 in Karnes City, Texas to Reducindo Escamilla Sr. and Esmerenciana Alvarado Escamilla passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the age of 60.

Mr. Escamilla was employed as a  Refinery Shift Superintendent for Valero Refinery, Three Rivers, TX and had over 37 years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years: Sandra S. Escamilla of Pawnee, TX; his beautiful daughters: Anadelle (Matthew) Bell of Corpus Christi, TX and Klaryssa Escamilla of New Braunfels, TX; and his handsome son: Kalli Escamilla of New Braunfels, TX; his two favorite grandchildren: Christian and Carter Bell; his sisters: Nora (Randle) Franke of Pawnee, TX, Nelda (Raymond) Luna of George West, TX and Mirella (Melvin) Davis of Pawnee, TX; brothers: Ray (Estella ) Escamilla, Pawnee, TX and Rudy Escamilla of Three Rivers, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 from 12:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. A Rosary will be recited Monday, September 14th, at 7:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel with: Rev. Ryszard Zielinski to recite and music by: Fernando Cisneros and Elizabeth Garcia. Knights of Columbus to present lapel pin to deceased and rosary beads to family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 15th, 2020 at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee, Texas with Rev. Ryszard Zielinski officiating. (Funeral Procession will leave from Eckols Funeral Home at 9:15a.m. to the church).
