Charles Edward Johnson, Jr.

Charles E. Johnson, Jr. Obit PicCharles Edward Johnson, Jr. of Kenedy formerly of Hutto, TX passed away Dec, 9, 2014 at the age of 73.

He was born in Kenedy Oct. 23, 1941 to Edward & Annie Schroller Johnson.  Charles was a maintenance man for the Hutto ISD.  He is survived by his wife LaAnna Blaschke Johnson of Kenedy, daughter Jamie Jenschke-Wheeler and husband Gene of Kenedy, one son Jeffrey and wife Jeanelle Johnson of Hutto,  two brothers Norman (Marcella) Johnson of Thrall, Gary (Betty) Johnson of Humble, one sister Mary Ann Kolodziej of Pettus.  Grandchildren Ryan, Kelsey, Jaycee, Jordon, Elleanor and Cali.  One great grandchild Haley.

A visitation will be held Saturday, Dec, 13th. From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eckols Chapel.  Funeral Services will be held Sunday, Dec. 14th. At 2:00 PM at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kenedy.  Interment will follow at the Pawnee Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Jenschke, Roy Fenner, Lance Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Larry Clark, and Michael Kolodziej.

Janelda Faye Anderson

Janelda Faye Anderson age 53 passed away Dec. 3, 2014.  She is the daughter of William and Linda Huddler Anderson of Floresville.  She was born Dec. 20, 1960 in Sinton, TX.  She is also survived by her sister Sherry and husband Ben Kruciak of LaVernia, Brothers Wayne and wife Barbara Anderson of Portland, and John and wife Pamela Anderson of Seguin.

A visitation will be held Sat. Dec. 6, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Eckols Funeral Home, Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Eckols Chapel with Pastor Tom Bonham officiating.  Interment will be in the Kenedy Cemetery.  Memorial to the Kidney or Heart Foundation.

Ryan Sam Painter

Ryan Sam PainterRyan Sam Painter age 30 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014.  Sam was a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, son-in-love and friend.  Sam was an amazingly sweet, smart, completely supportive, compassionate and hard working person.  He never met a stranger and if you were his friend, you were family.  Sam graduated from Carroll high school and attended Texas A&M college station.

Sam is preceded in death by his father Thomas Manning. Sam is survived by his loving wife Heather Nance Painter, his mother Kathy Painter, his dad Richard Painter, his sister Kimberly Painter Hall, her husband Drew Hall and their son Aiden, his sister Amy Painter Boatman, her husband Kevin Boatman and their three children, Oakley, Maverick and Halle, his mother and father-in-love and all his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held onSat. December 6, 2014 at 1:30 PM at Seaside Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at the cemetery in Sandia, TX.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice, such as St. Jude, Muscular Dystrophy, or ASPCA. Sam would have wanted it that way.

Evelyn L. Burris

Evelyn L, Burris age 80 died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014.  She was born in Green, TX to Samuel and Ola Pittman Bruton.  She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Kenedy, and was a Register Nurse.  She married Kenneth Burris Feb. 28, 1953 in Kenedy and he preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1996.  She is also preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, 2 brothers and 1 grandchild.

She is survived by her daughter Janet White of Kenedy, son Karl (Jackie) Burris of Smithville.  One sister Betty Daniel of San Antonio,  10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eckols Chapel.  Funeral services will be Wednesday Nov. 26, 2014 at the Eckols Chapel with Pastor Wade Lawrence officiating.  Interment will be in the Kenedy Cemetery.

Ramon Montalvo

Ramon Montalvo age 94 of Kenedy passed away  Dec. 2, 2014,  He was born Sept 11, 1920 in Kenedy.     He is preceded in death by his parents Juan & Juanita Franco Montalvo, Wife Dora Mae Adams, 5 brothers & sisters.  He is survived by his daughter Viola  (Graciano) Alarcon.  Grandchildren Sonya Kelley, Isaac Alarcon & Anica Lopez & 3 great grandchildren.  He worked at the Kenedy Compress as a fork lift operator for over 40 yrs.  He was a member of First Mexican Baptist Church.   A Prayer Service was held Thursday, Dec. 4th at 7:00 PM from the Eckols Chapel.  Funeral  Services were held Friday at 10:00 AM from the Eckols Chapel.  Interment followed  in the Loma Alta Cemetery.

Paula Ramirez, Age 59 of Kenedy, TX passed away on November 1, 2014 in San Antonio, TX.  She was born on June 29, 1955 in San Miguel, Mexico.  She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathoilc Church.

She is survived by daughters, Lorena Baldarramos, Carla Grimaldo, Angie Grimaldo, and son, Miguel Grimaldo all of Kenedy, TX.

A Rosary will be recited Thurs., Nov. 6, 2014 at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be held Fri., Nov. 7, 2014 at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Maragarita Montez VasquezMargarita Montez Vasquez, Age 81 of Tuleta, TX passed away on Fri. Oct. 31, 2014 in Beeville, TX.  She was born on Nov. 9, 1932 in Charco, TX to the late Baldomero and Tomasa Aguilar Montez. She was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents Baldomero and Tomasa Aguilar Montez; sister Josephina Montez and a brother Manual Montez.

She is survived by her son Julian Vasquez and wife Marivel of Tuleta; daughter Blanca Estella Vasquez of Goliad; sister Lucia Garza of Kenedy; brothers Baldomero Montez, Jr. of Mathis, Jesse Montez of Tuleta and 2 grandchildren.

A Rosary was recited Sun. Nov. 2, 2014 at 7P.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass was held Mon. Nov. 3, 2014 at 10A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus, TX.  Interment will follow in the Charco Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Julian Vasquez, Jr., Estella Vasquez, Christian Cruz, Jason Chapa, Trey Montez, and Richard Vasquez.

Linda Kay Jaeger

Linda Kay JaegerLinda Kay Jaeger, age 67 of Leander, TX formerly of Kenedy, TX passed away on October 23, 2014 in Round Rock, TX.   She was born on September 26, 1947 in Tulsa OK to the late William H. and Lillie Routh Beardsley.  She married Richard Jaeger on January 24, 1970 in Kenedy, TX who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 2007.   She graduated from Texas A&I in 1969 and was a retired accountant.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Jaeger; and parents William H. and Lillie Routh Beardsley.

She is survived by her sons, Brad Jaeger and wife Trish of Mesquite, Eric Jaeger of Leander; sister, Carol Martin and husband George of Christine; brother, Bill Beardsley and wife Louise of Cibolo.

A Visitation was held Tuesday, October 28 from 6PM to 8PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 1PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Trey Hill officiating.  Interment will follow in the Karnes County Memorial Park Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

VILLARREALEstella Adelaida Trevino Villarreal, Age 89 of El Oso, TX passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2014.  She was born on October 15, 1925 in Hobson, TX to the late Francisco and Emma Salinas Trevino. She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jose Gonzalo Villarreal, Sr.; parents, Francisco and Emma Salinas Trevino; sisters , Elsa Leal, and Eva Trevino; brothers, Alvaro Trevino, Alfonzo Trevino, Adolio Trevino and Art Trevino.

She is survived by her daughters, Blanca DeLeon and Husband Albert of Mineral, Tessie Doblar and husband Bill of George West; sons, Joe G. Villarreal, Jr. and wife Dana of Calallen, Armando Villarreal of Premont, Javier Villarreal of El Oso, Jimmy Villarreal of El Oso, Albert Villarreal and wife Margot of El Oso, Epifanio Villarreal, III and wife Raquel of Pawnee; sisters Elvia Trevino of EL Oso, Emma Hartley of Schertz, 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pawnee, TX with the Rev. Romeo Salinas officiating.  Interment will follow in the De Ntra Sra De Guadalupe Cemetery in Pawnee, TX

Serving as pallbearers will be her sons and son in laws.

John Henry Davidson, Jr.

 

John Henry Davidson, Jr Obit PicJohn Henry Davidson, Jr., was born August 20, 1923, in Mendoza, Caldwell County, Texas to John Henry Davidson and Mattie Gertrude Scott Davidson.  His father was a cotton farmer and worked at a hardware store making buggies.  The Davidsons moved to Coy City in 1924 to be near his mother’s family.  They purchased their own farm and they, with the help of their children, paid for it during the depression.  John graduated from Karnes City High School in 1942, during World War II and joined the Army Air Force in November 1942 serving for over three years being discharged in February 1945.  He served in several places, all in the US, as an Air Force mechanic.  He met Norene “Peaches” Hunt in the fall of 1944, and they were married July 15, 1945, in Choate, Karnes County, Texas, where she was raised.  He was a farmer and rancher for more than 50 years and was farm manager for Beasley Estate Farms for 15 years.  He served as trustee of the Pawnee Independent School District, a member of the Pawnee Lions Club, and on the Bee County Appraisal District board.  He resided in Pawnee from 1945-1965, in Beeville from 1965-1980, and back to Pawnee from 1980 until his death.  He was a member of the Pawnee Baptist Church for many years and later a member of the First Methodist Church of Pawnee.  John is predeceased by his parents Henry and Mattie Davidson, a sister Laura Elizabeth Hemme, a daughter Marsha Davidson Holt, and his beloved wife Peaches.  He is survived by two brothers, Scott Davidson of Coy City and Dee Davidson of Floresville, his daughter Laura “Penny” Davidson Craig (Dr. William H. Craig), a grandson John William Craig, three great grandchildren (Iain, Matthew, and Jonica Craig), and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends whom he loved.

 

Family Visitation will be Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 5PM to 8PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be held Monday, October 20, 2014 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Harvey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Pawnee Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Bill Welkner, Elton Lieke, Tommy LaCour, David Hemme, Scottie Davidson, and Ricky Davidson.

 

Memorials may be made to the Pawnee Cemetery Association.
