On Friday, August 1, 2014 my baby girl was called to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amber Nicole Brown was born on November 23, 1988 to Allen Ray Brown and Charlene K. Johnson.  She Attended Copperas Cove High School. She attended United Faith Church and Prospect Baptist Church.  Amber is preceded in death by her sister Dawn Ryne Foley, her grandparents, Callie Mae and Charlie Foley, Jr., numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and her dog Pattie.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter; Acelynn Rain Dixson, her fiancé Pfc Antoine Dixson of Fort, Hood, TX, her mother, Charlene K. Rafela C. Salinas, Age 69 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 in Floresville, TX.  She was born on June 20, 1945 in Goliad, TX to the late Daniel and Josephine Hernandez Calderon.  On January 23, 1960 she married Aquilino Salinas in Kenedy, TX.  She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Florencio “Tio Lencho” Reyna, Age 98 passed away on July 18, 2014 in Kenedy, TX.   He was born on February 14, 1916 in Ecleto, TX to the late Encarnacion and Simona Reyna. He was a rancher and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.  On February 5, 1938 he married Trina Rivas in Runge, TX who preceded him in death.

He is preceded in death by his wife Trina Rivas Reyna, parents, Encarnacion and Simona Rivas Reyna, brothers, Magdanello Reyna, Daniel Reyna, Rosendo Reyna, sisters, Antonia Reyna, and Guadalupe Reyna Guerra.

He is survived by his sister Isidra Reyna Guttierrez, brother, Antonio Salazar, niece Dora and husband Mike Ochoa and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.

A Rosary was recited Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 7:00 P.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass was held Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Hermann Norbert officiating.  Interment was held in the Runge Latin Cemetery.

Martha Alicia DeLosSantos, Age 60 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Karnes City, TX.  She was born on April 19, 1954 in Mexico to the late Javier and Alicia Maldonado Puerto. She was homemaker and a member of El Buen Samaritano Methodist Church.  She married Juan DeLosSantos on August 24, 1974 in Kenedy, TX.

She is preceded in death by her parents Javier and Alicia Maldonado Puerto.

Betty Gay Sturcken Kennedy, a dedicated Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, entered eternal peace with the Lord on July 23, 2014.Betty Gay was born on June 11, 1921 in San Antonio to Bess Butler Sturcken Harbeck and Harold Eugene Sturcken.  She married Ty Cobb in 1940 but at the age of 21 she was a widow.  She found love again and married William John (Bill) Kennedy.  Her life was full, living in Bogota, Columbia, Guatemala, Florida  and Texas.  She is preceded in death by  husband Bill Kennedy, two sons, Michael and Bryan Kennedy and her grandson, Trey Hugenberg.She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter Karen, Joe, daughter-in-law Nancy Kennedy, grandchildren,Hollie(Luke), Buddy (Kristina),Becky(Troy), Cindy(Jesse), and Tyson, 9 great-grandchildren, her cousins and loving friends.A celebration of her life will be a rosary at Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy, Texas at 7 PM on Monday, July 28^th.  Following the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 29 at 10 AM the entombment will be at the Butler Family Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nurses in Touch Hospice  491 N. Sara Carta age 70, of Kenedy, TX passed away on July 14, 2014 in Karnes City, TX.  She was born on March 24, 1944 in Davidson, Oklahoma to the late Lucio and Maria Garza.  She was a retired cook for the Lubbock State School and of the Catholic faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lucio and Maria Garza.

She is survived by her daughters Candy Bustamante of Waco, TX; Lulah Rios of Lubbock, TX; Molly Pena of Karnes City, T; sons Jimmy Don Garza and Eddie Pena both of Missouri, companion Danny Acebedo of Kenedy, TX and 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation began Wednesday, July 16, 2014 after 12 noon and continued up until the funeral service.  Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Chaplain Lydia Luna officiating.

Roy Mike Garcia, Age 74 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 in San Antonio, TX.  Roy was born on September 29, 1939 in Kenedy, TX to the late Jose and Manuela Salinas Garcia.  He was a retired sandblaster, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

He is preceded death by his parents, Jose and Manuela Salinas Garcia, and brothers, Ray and Ruben Garcia.

He is survived by his wife Tila Diaz Garcia, sons, Michael Garcia and wife Renae of Arlington, TX, Mark Garcia of Austin, TX, Dr. Marvin Garcia of Rockport, TX, brother, Joe R. Garcia of San Antonio, TX, and grandchildren Alex Garcia, Amanda Garcia, and Brianna Garcia.

Pablo Lopez Duenes Age 68 of Floresville, TX formerly of Jayton, TX, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in San Antonio, TX.  He was born on December 19, 1945 in Pawnee, TX to the Late Daniel and Feliciana Lopez Duenes.  He was a retired Maintenance man and a veteran of the US Army who served his country proudly during the Vietnam War.

He is preceded in death by his parents Daniel and Feliciana Lopez.

He is survived by his wife Ermina Suniga Duenes, daughters, Jennifer Merino, Debbie Cortez, Misti Evans, Dulcie Coy, Priscilla Duenes, Sons, Pablo Duenez, Jr, Timothy Duenes, sisters, Josie Warner, Isabel Zepeda, Linda Mata, brothers, Willie Duenes, Frank Duenes, Antonio Duenes, Alfredo Duenes, Domingo Duenes, Eliseo Duenes and 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A Prayer Service was held Friday, July 4, 2014 at 7P.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Services were Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 10A.M.  in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Domingo Duenes officiating.  Interment will be in the De Ntra Sra De Guadalupe Cemetery in Pawnee, TX with Military Honors.

Maria Rodriguez Aguirre, age 85 of Rosenberg, TX formerly of Pettus, TX passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 in Sugarland, TX.  She was born on June 20, 1929 to the late Luis and Santos (Lopez) Rodriguez in Kingsville, TX.  She was a homemaker and a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus, TX.  On October 20, 1948 she married Esiquio V. Aguirre in Karnes City, TX who preceded her in death.

She is preceded in death by her husband Esiquio V. Aguiire, Sr. parents Luis and Santos Lopez Rodriguez, son Esiquio R. Aguirre, Jr.,  daughter Santos Aguirre, sister Aurora Ortiz and brother Ernesto Aguirre.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Madrigal and husband Lupe of Rosenberg, TX grandchildren, Ricardo Aguirre of Pettus, TX, Gloria Ramirez and husband Phillip, Mario Madrigal and wife Jay, Ana Madrigal and Kirsten Martin, all of Rosenburg, TX, Sylvia Madrigal and husband Robert Escamilla of Katy, TX and two great grandchildren Isabella Ramirez and Lauren Aguirre.

A Rosary was recited Monday, June 23, 2014 at 7pm in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10am at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus, TX with the Rev. Luke officiating.  Interment was held at the Pettus Cemetery in Pettus, TX.

Robert L. Steed, Sr. Age 62 of Karnes City, TX passed away on June 20, 2014 in Karnes City, TX.  He was born on May 23, 1952 in Corpus Christi, TX  to Robert B. Steed and Mary Rose Chapman.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Rose Steed, father Robert B. Steed, daughters, Leticia Steed, Salina Steed, son Robert Steed, Jr, sister Vicky Bland, brothers, Jeff Steed, Kenneth Steed, Richard Steed and 11 grandchildren.
