Graciela Garza

Graciela Garza, Age 83 of Kenedy, TX passed away on May 5, 2019 in Kenedy, TX. Graciela was born on March 16, 1936 in Charco, TX to the late Renulfo and Eva Garcia Morales.    Graciela was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and a devout member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Runge, TX.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Daniel Garza, Sr.; parents, Renulfo and Eva Garcia Morales; sisters, Maria Barrientes, Linda Pena; brothers, Ramiro Morales, Rudy Morales, and Rodrigo Morales.  She is survived by her sons, Daniel Raul Garza and wife Ida of Kenedy, Felipe Benecio Garza and wife Rose Mary of Plano, Jaime Garza and wife Darlene of San Antonio; sisters, Irma Valencia of Goliad, Adelfa Flores of Goliad; brother, Simon Morales of Goliad and 8 grandchildren.  A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hilario Hurtado. Services will be Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hilario Hurtado officiating.  Interment will follow in the Loma Alta Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Joshua Garza, Michael Garza, Daniel Garza, III, Nicolas Garza, Rene Morales, and Gino Garza.

Paige Dakota White

Paige Dakota White, Age 15 of Kenedy, TX passed way Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Kenedy, TX.  Paige was born on May 5, 2003 in Victoria, TX to Roy F. and Donise K. McHaney White.  She was a lovely daughter, sister, a student at K.I.S.D and of the Protestant Faith.  Paige is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Douglas E. McHaney.  Paige is survived by her parents, Roy F. and Donise K. McHaney White of Kenedy; sisters, Kiana Startz , Sierra White, Saige White, Kandace White, Kaylyn White and Lainie White all of Kenedy; Maternal Grandmother, Janie McHaney of Runge; Paternal Grandparents, Janet White of Seguin and Herman White of LaVernia; Maternal Great Grandmother Ninfa McHaney of San Antonio and a host of family and friends.  Family Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 5PM to 9PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Hill, III officiating. Services will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 11AM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Hill, III officiating.  Interment will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Julian Baldaramos

Julian Baldaramos, Age 37 of Visalia, CA formerly of Kenedy, TX passed away April 22, 2019 in Visalia, CA. Julian was born on November 17, 1981 in Lubbock, TX.  Julian served his country proudly in the US NAVY on the Strike Fighter Squadron 151 stationed out of NAS Lemoore, CA; was a Law Enforcement officer employed by the Santa Rosa Rancheria TACHI TRIBE, a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many.  Julian is preceded in death by his father, Ramiro S. Alvear and a brother, Christopher Baldaramos.  Julian is survived by his parents Linda D. and Ralph Mata of Premont, TX; sons, Julius Baldaramos of San Antonio, Jeremy Alvear of Kenedy; brother, Daniel Lee Baldaramos and wife Monica of Chula Vista, CA and a host of family and friends.  Family Visitation will be Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 1PM to 9PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 10AM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matt Singleton officiating.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

James Richard Ruthenberg

James Richard Ruthenberg, age 76 of Kenedy, Texas peacefully passed away at home on Monday, April 29, 2019 surrounded by his family. Jim was born on July 12, 1942 in Mount Clemens, MI to the late Rudy and Joyce Powers Ruthenberg.  He married his sweetheart Dee Ann Zerfass on April 30, 1966 in Richmond, MI and later welcomed his favorite daughter into the world a year later.  He was a proud American and honorably served in the US Coast Guard; was a skilled craftsman; a member of the First Baptist Church in Kenedy; and a loving husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, a friend to many and a stranger to none.  Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Rudy and Joyce Powers Ruthenberg; great-grandson, James David Ferron; and brother, Charles Ruthenberg.  James is survived by his loving wife, Dee Ann Zerfass Ruthenberg; daughter, Lisa Lynn Atkinson and husband Scott of Kenedy; sister, Bonnie Austin and husband Denis of New Baltimore, MI; brother, Dale Ruthenberg of Wadhams, MI; 5 grandchildren, David Ferron III and wife Renee, Alleasha Smith and husband Lance, Katlyn Martin and husband Sterling, Taylor Garcia and husband Justin, and Jacob Atkinson; 8 great-grandchildren, Sadie, JD, and Daisy Ferron, Jett and Logan Smith, Brody and Kynlee Martin, Addison Garcia, and two more along the way.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10 o’clock in the morning  at the First Baptist Church, 209 E. School Street, Kenedy, TX with the Rev. Tim Williams officiating.

Mark Anthony Pineda Jr.

Mark Anthony Pineda Jr., of Karnes City, Texas was born on September 2, 2004 in Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on April 28, 2019 at the age of 14 years old. He was attending Karnes City Junior High and was in the eight grade. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Steed Sr. He is survived by his parents: Mark and Salina Salazar; his paternal grandmother, Melinda Alvarez; paternal grandfather, Jaime Pineda and maternal grandmother, Dina Steed; sisters: Savannah, Briannah, Alanah, Deannah; other relatives, friends and classmates. Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 1:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Reception to follow at family residence. Private inurnment.

Martha Dee Angermiller

Martha Dee Angermiller, 81, of Baytown, Texas went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, April 8, 2019, in a Baytown Hospital with her daughters by her side. She was born on August 3, 1937 in Beeville, Texas to Curtis and Elizabeth Murphy. She graduated from Kenedy High School and went to work as a bookkeeper. She retired from Tiller and Company in 2017 after forty years of employment. In 1956, she married Leroy Angermiller, the love of her life. She loved serving others and family was the most important thing to her. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply and was happiest when we were all together. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Baytown. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Curtis (Pat) Murphy JR. She is survived by her sister, Marianne Stockton, of Benton, AR; daughters: Gloria Graves and husband Paul; Sandy Hicks and husband Dallas. Her grandchildren, Jason Graves and wife Lauren; Justin Graves and wife Holly; Ashley Thurgood and husband Travis. Great-Grandchldren: Gavin Graves, Katilyn Graves, Grayson Graves, Chandler Thurgood, Kynnadee Westin Thurgood; as well as numerous extended family. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Chris Hays and staff as well as to St. James and staff during this last difficult year. An extra special thanks also to her nurses, Chris, Rose, Ruth and Irene at St. James. Visitation was held Wednesday, April 10th at 5:00p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, at 11:00a.m. at Kenedy Cemetery, Kenedy, TX. with Gerald Harris officiating.

Conchita “Meemo” Navarro Perez

Conchita “Meemo” Navarro Perez, of Karnes City,TX was born to Aurelio Navarro and Maria Garcia Navarro on July 23, 1936 in Asherton,TX passed away on April 7, 2019 at the age of 82. Conchita was a devoted to the Blessed Mother and an active member of the Guadalupanas, ACTS, and the Legion of Mary. She is survived by her husband of over 59 years, Tomas G. Perez, formerly of Runge, TX. She is also survived by her daughters: Theresa M. Andy of Normanna,TX and Irene Perez of Karnes City,TX; her son, Tom (Irma Stella) Perez Jr. of Kenedy,TX; granddaughters: Connie J.Andy, Theresa J. Andy, Lisa Marie Perez and Marina E. Deleon; two great grandsons: Draven Morales and Eric Morales. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Jose(Angela) Navaro, Aurelio (Isabel) Navarro and Eliseo (Dora) Navarro. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 1:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Funeral services Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Norbert Hermann officiating. Interment in Runge Latin Cemetery. John Hopkins

John Hopkins, of Karnes City, TX was born on April 2, 1956 in Karnes City, TX. He was the son of the late A.J. “Peter” and Dorothy Lee Fisher Hopkins. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He worked for Karkens for 20 years. He also worked for Allied Moving Company in San Antonio for 5 years.  He is preceded in death by his parents, A.J. “Peter” And Dorothy Lee Hopkins; one sister, Sylvia Ann Hopkins and two brothers, Larry James Hopkins, Sr., and Jerry Hopkins. He leaves to cherish his memories his companion, Margaret Kotzur and her son David Kotzur of Karnes City, TX; four brothers, Stanley (Mary Jane) Hopkins, Russell (Lanell) Hopkins, Joe (Amanda) Hopkins all of Karnes City, TX, Albert (TJ) Hopkins of San Antonio, TX; three sisters, Shirley (Stanley) Williams of Kenedy, TX, Cora Thomas of Karnes City, TX, Thelma Hopkins of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Dora Hopkins of Karnes City, TX and Annie Hopkins of Karnes City, TX and a host of relative and friends.  Visitation will be held Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 9AM to 2PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Services will begin at 2PM Thursday, April 11, 2019 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B.W. Rodolfo “Rudy” Escamilla Elizondo

Rodolfo “Rudy” Escamilla Elizondo, Age 66 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Kenedy, TX. Rudy was born on November 8, 1952 in Karnes City, TX to the late Roberto, Sr. and Ofelia Escamilla Elizondo.  Rudy was the owner operator of Elizondo Welding; a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend to many, a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Roberto, Sr. and Ofelia Escamilla Elizondo; brothers, Roberto Elizondo, Jr and Rolando Elizondo.  He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Rose Marie Lopez Elizondo of Kenedy; daughters, Ofelia Marie Elizondo and companion Guy Willeford, Jr. of Victoria, Vanessa Elizondo Hrbacek and husband Jeff of Universal City; granddaughter, Hannah Hrbacek and numerous nieces and nephews.  A Holy Rosary will be recited Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Nobert Hermann officiating.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Billie Ray Lewis

Billie Ray Lewis, Age 68, a resident of Kenedy, TX formerly of San Antonio, TX passed away on April 1, 2019 in Kenedy, TX. Billie was born on August 7, 1950 in New Orleans, LA.  He worked as a server at Club Giraud loved his family, playing spades, dominos, fishing and listening to blues music.  He is survived by his wife Denise Wagner of Dallas; son, Billie Wagner Lewis and wife MacKenzie of St. Joseph, MO; step-son, Ronald Wagner and wife Chandra of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Jeremiah Leyva-Wagner and Mariah Leyva-Wagner of St. Joseph, MO; sister-in-law Wanda Wagner; nieces, Sherrece Wagner and Octavia Wagner of San Antonio, TX.  A Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
