Betty Gay Sturcken Kennedy, a dedicated Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend, entered eternal peace with the Lord on July 23, 2014.Betty Gay was born on June 11, 1921 in San Antonio to Bess Butler Sturcken Harbeck and Harold Eugene Sturcken.  She married Ty Cobb in 1940 but at the age of 21 she was a widow.  She found love again and married William John (Bill) Kennedy.  Her life was full, living in Bogota, Columbia, Guatemala, Florida  and Texas.  She is preceded in death by  husband Bill Kennedy, two sons, Michael and Bryan Kennedy and her grandson, Trey Hugenberg.She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter Karen, Joe, daughter-in-law Nancy Kennedy, grandchildren,Hollie(Luke), Buddy (Kristina),Becky(Troy), Cindy(Jesse), and Tyson, 9 great-grandchildren, her cousins and loving friends.A celebration of her life will be a rosary at Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy, Texas at 7 PM on Monday, July 28^th.  Following the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 29 at 10 AM the entombment will be at the Butler Family Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nurses in Touch Hospice  491 N.
