Guilford Gillis Wythe, Jr.

Guilford Gillis Wythe, Jr. passed away on March 22, 2019 at the age of 86. He was born in Galveston, TX.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Guilford Gillis Wythe and Myrtle Almon Wythe and sisters, Doris Weber and Bobbye Knebel.  He is survived by his wife, Patsy, daughter, Trisha Box and husband, Brian and their daughters Emily and Katie Box of Spring Branch, Texas.  He is also survived by son, Jeffrey Wythe and wife, Kathy and their children, Cameron, Adrienne and Trenton of College Station, Texas.  His son, Gil Wythe and wife Dyann of Odessa, Texas, and their sons, Eric and Justin and wife Ashley.  He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Kiersten and Mila Wythe.  Gillis will be remembered by many thru his career of 50 years as a Physical Therapist in the San Antonio Area.  He also served his country in the U.S. ARMY.  He leaves behind nieces, nephews and many friends who were so special in his life.  A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, March 30th at 2P.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Runge, Texas, with Pastor Randy Bruno officiating.  Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, P.O. Barbara Ann DuBose

Barbara Ann DuBose of Pawnee, Texas was born on August 21, 1947 in Corsicana, Texas passed away at her residence surrounded by family on March 19, 2019 at the age of 71. Mrs. DuBose was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Whitehead; two grandchildren: Pascol Cole DuBose and Paisley Inez DuBose and husband Ira Lynn DuBose in 2017. She is survived by her two sons: Duane DuBose and fiancé, Linda Bettin of Karnes City, Texas and Wesley (Jenn) DuBose of Pawnee, Texas; grandchildren: Katie Lynn DuBose and William Warren Cole DuBose; brother in law, Dale DuBose of Corpus Christi, Texas and other relatives. Visitation was held Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Funeral services Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00a.m. at Eckols Chapel with Rev. Trey Hill of Word Fellowship officiating. Interment in Mineral Cemetery, Mineral, Texas. Pallbearers: Bryan Widner, Wayne Baldwin, LeeRoy Poldreck, Ronnie Gordon, Anthony Diaz and Stephen Monsivais. Lottie Moses Payne, of Kenedy,TX  born on February 5, 1932 in Sugarland, TX to Burl Moses and Nellie Morris Moses passed away on March 12, 2019 at the age of 87. Nieves “Snow” Arenas, of Kenedy, TX born on Agust 5, 1924 in Karnes County, TX to Pablo Arenas and Candelaria Fuentes Arenas passed away March 5, 2019 at the age of 94. Nancy Lou Duckett

Nancy Lou Duckett, born on November 8, 1947 in Tyler, Texas to Floyd Patterson and Peggy Whitworth Patterson passed away on March 2, 2019 at the age of 71 at her residence with her husband, Larry by her side.   Nancy was retired from Karnes County as County Treasurer serving two terms. She was also a fire fighter, a restaurant owner, owner of an insurance agency, owner of a campground in Leakey, TX; served as a bookkeeper for Runge school and a Branch Manager for the Runge and Kenedy Banks. Nancy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry Duckett of Runge, TX; her daughters: Kristy (Gene) Zaiontz of Falls City, TX and Gwyndolyn Lea Montez of San Antonio, TX; two grandsons: Ryan and Eric Montez of San Antonio, TX; sister, Betsy (Ken) Allard of San Antonio; nephew, Jeff Christian and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Gloria was retired from Otto Kaiser after 30 years of service as an LVN. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Yolanda Granado. Survivors include her husband, Robert S. (Rodney) Jaramillo of Kenedy, TX; her sons: Paul (Julie) Justice, Robert (Roxanne) May Jr. of Kenedy, TX; Edward James May of Three Rivers, TX, Robert “Big Bobby” May, of Houston, TX; and Brad May of Houston, TX; sisters: Janie Beltran and Beatrice Martinez, both of Kenedy, TX, Anna Eldridge of Seguin, TX and Esperanza Zapata of Pearsall, TX; brother: Johnny Granado of Seguin, TX; 21 grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Angelita “Angie” Yanes Martinez

Angelita “Angie “ Yanes Martinez, Age 75 of Kenedy, TX passed away on February 22, 2019 in Kenedy, TX. Angie was born on September 27, 1943 in Kenedy to the late Leopoldo and Demeteria D. Yanes.  She was a local business owner operator in Kenedy; a loving sister, aunt, friend to many and a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

She is preceded death by her husband, Jesse B. Martinez; parents, Leopoldo and Demetria D. Yanes; sisters, Adela Martinez Salinas, Lupe Rico infant brothers and sisters, Oscar, Chris, Ninfa, and Elsa.

She is survived by her sisters, Ester (Frank) Salas of Lubbock, Elena (Robert) Llanas of Boling, Diana Martinez of Kenedy; brothers, Alex Garza, III of Kenedy, Steven (Mary) Martinez of Kenedy, and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 at 7PM in the Eckols Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11:00 A.M.  Interment will follow in the Karnes City Latin Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Steven G. Martinez, Jr., Daniel Salinas, Alex Salinas, Bobby Llanas, Frank Salas.
