Lauro Flores, of Kenedy, TX formerly of Hebbronville, TX born  December 1, 1929 to Calistro and Teofila Flores passed away on May 31, 2020 at the age of 90 in Kenedy, TX. Lauro is was preceded in death by his wife, Hermelinda in February of 2014.Survivors include his stepdaughter: Francisca Rodriguez of Hebbronville, TX; sisters: Hortencia Rodriguez of Robstown,TX,Maria Rodriguez of Coleman, TX,Irma Flores, of Dodge City, KS, and Sulema Salinas, Dodge City, KS ; brother: Calistro Flores Jr. of Robstown,TX; and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday, June 5, 2020 from9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. at Eckols Funeral Home with Graveside services at 11:00a.m. at Kenedy Cemetery, Kenedy, TX.

Barbara Evans

Barbara Evans, of Corpus Christi, TX, born to Clyde Thomas Solomon and Florence Cannon Solomon on August 7, 1935 in McAllen, TX passed away on May 31, 2020 at the age of 84. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband James “Tom” Evans in August of 1997 her son, Charles Frank Navejar in April of 2020, her two brothers: Allan Solomon and Brownie Solomon. She is survived by her daughters: Brenda Jo Madison of Corpus Christi, TX and Linda Leigh Stahl(Edward Henehan Jr.) of Manvel, TX; son: Donald Allan Navejar of Omaha, NE; 6 grandchildren; brother: Tommy Jo Solomon; 3 nieces, 2 nephews and other relatives. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 1:00p.m. at Choate Cemetery, Choate, TX with Pastor Danielle Knapp officiating.

Alicia Gonzales

Alicia Gonzales, of San Antonio, TX passed away Monday, June 1, 2020 in San Antonio, TX. Mrs. Alicia Gonzales was born on July 23, 1952 in Stockdale, TX to Dominga Rivas and Tomas Gomez. She married Francisco Gonzales at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Pawnee, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband: Francisco “Frank” Gonzales of San Antonio; three daughters: Maria (Ozil) Salinas of San Antonio, Norma (Amy Brooks) Gonzales of Ft. Worth, and Antonia Marie Gonzales of San Antonio; one grandson: Ozil C. (Trey) Salinas, III and many extended grandchildren; three brothers: Juan Gomez, Tomas (Eloisa) Gomez, and Alfredo Gomez, Sr. (Elizabeth Cook); one sister: Rosita Rodriguez and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Mary Garcia Villarreal

Mary Garcia Villarreal, Age 82 of Kenedy, TX passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family at her residence in Kenedy, TX. Mary was born on January 12, 1938 in Kenedy, TX to the late Jose R. and Florencia (Perez) Garcia. On December 22, 1960 she married Joe Lopez Villarreal in Kenedy, TX. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, a devout member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church serving faithfully as a sacristan and a friend to many who will deeply miss Mary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose R. and Florencia Perez Garcia; sisters, Juanita Garza and Margaret Beltran; brothers, Jesus Perez Garcia, Jose Perez Garcia, David Perez Garcia, Cipriano Perez Garcia and Guadalupe Perez Garcia.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Lopez Villarreal of Kenedy; daughter, Florence Bryan and husband Juan M. Jr. of Kenedy; grandsons, Austin Bryan and wife Victoria of Kenedy, Kristofer Lane Bryan of Kenedy and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

A Holy Rosary will be recited Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 7PM in the Eckols Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 21, 2020 at 10AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Norbert Hermann officiating. Interment will follow in the Loma Alta Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Lee Ann

Lee Ann of Aransas Pass, Texas age 60 passed away Thursday,May 14, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas with her mother and brother at her side. Lee Ann was born in Arrington, England, June 13, 1959. Her parents returned to San Antonio, Texas in 1961 as her father completed his active duty military service. Lee finished high school at Southwest High School in San Antonio, Texas. Initially, Lee practiced as a dental hygienist. She went on to complete her degree in English at Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas. Lee Ann was a very intelligent  woman and very artistic. She loved animals and enjoyed playing on the family farm with all her cousins. Lee Ann was preceded in death by her father: Alton Lee Woolverton and grandparents: Annie and Deal McAda. Aunts: Dorothy Nichols and Francis Oetken; uncles: Dr. Acie McAda and Dr. William McAda. Lee is survived by her mother: Rosemarie McAda Harris of Kenedy, Texas and brother: David Morgan Woolverton and wife Linda of San Antonio and niece: Jessie Roselee Woolverton and nephew: David Morgan Woolverton Jr. Graveside services Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 9:30a.m. at Kenedy Cemetery. Laurie Ann Bevel McCarley

Laurie Ann Bevel McCarley, age 51 of Kenedy, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in Beeville,

Texas. Laurie was born on July 16, 1968 in El Paso, Texas to the late Jack and Royleene Jacobson Bevel.

At an early age, Laurie enjoyed gymnastics, dance and sports. She attended Hanau American High School in Hanau, Germany where she was an officer in the JROTC and she participated in the Military Youth Activity Softball League. After graduation she moved to Kenedy,Texas where she pursued and held many different careers in retail, sales, Certified Nursing Assist, and the ACE Program and Substitute Teacher at KISD. She loved animals, especially frogs. She loved all things purple and was an avid Texas Longhorn fan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kenedy, Texas and loved working in the nursery.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Royleene Jacobson Bevel, and nephew Jonathan Hackney. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer McCarley; brothers: Jack (Shawnna)Bevel of DeRidder Louisiana, and Jeff (Liz) Bevel of San Antonio, Texas; sister: Shirlene (Kent) Hackney of Kenedy, Texas; numerous nieces and great nieces and nephews.

Due to the current panademic, a private immediate family service was held at the Kenedy Cemetery on June 20, 2020. The McCarley and Bevel family wishes to thank each of you for your love, your support and your prayers throughout this difficult time.

Ernest “Wero Neto” Soliz, Sr.

Ernest “Wero Neto” Soliz, Sr., Age 84 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in Karnes City, TX. Ernest was born on February 22, 1936 in Kenedy to the late Frank Soliz and Natalia S. Flores. He was a retired cotton gin operator and of the Catholic Faith.  Ernest is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Natalia S. Alejandro B. Diaz

Alejandro B. Diaz, of Sedalia, Missouri born on June 28,1945 in Kenedy, Texas to Ambrosio Garcia Diaz and Maria Barrientes Diaz passed away April 29, 2020 at the age of 74. Mr. Diaz was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrosio and Maria Diaz; his sister, Leonor Diaz, brothers: Francisco Diaz, Ambrosio Diaz Jr., Liandro Diaz, Felipe Diaz, Alcaro Diaz, Daniel Diaz, Alberto Diaz, and Robert Diaz. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Connie J. Diaz of Sedalia, MO; his daughter, Maria Elena Diaz, Sedalia, MO; sons: Kenneth (Lydia) Diaz of San Antonio, TX, Alejandro Diaz, Jr. and Luis Diaz, both of Sedalia, MO; 9 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; sisters: Esperanza Martinez of Port Lavaca, TX and Maria Herrera of Seguin, TX; brothers: Samuel (Mary) Diaz of San Antonio, TX and Juan Diaz of Kenedy, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. Julia R. Alvarado, Age 59 of Austin, TX passed away surrounded by family at her home in Austin, TX.   Julia was born August 20, 1960 in Karnes City to Dolores and Santos Gonzales Rodriguez. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, a homemaker and of the Catholic Faith.  She is preceded in death by her father Dolores Rodriguez, Sr.  She is survived by her husband, Robert Alvarado, Sr. of Austin; mother Santos G.
