Linda Gilley Hartsfield

Linda Gilley Hartsfield was born in Karnes City Texas on March 30. 1946 and passed away on October 22, 2025 in Kenedy at the age of 79.  She is preceded in death by parents, Caleb and Finley Gilley; sisters, Vivian (Clarence) Roberts, Florence (Devasco) Wishert, Minnie (Rodney) St. Claire; brothers, Caleb, Jr (Eula) Gilley and Martin (Lorraine) Gilley.  She is survived by her sons, Randall Hartsfield of Kenedy, Jeff (Lisa) Hartsfield of Kenedy; grandchildren Brian (Kate) Hartsfield, Jaclyn Hartfield, Angelica (Leonard) Hartsfield, Jacy (Alex) Hartsfield, Michael Hartsfield; great-grandchildren, Ryder Hartsfield, Jagger Hartsfield, Kyler Hartsfield, Harper Hartsfield, Harper Hartsfield, Kami Hartsfield, Jeremiah Hartsfield, Tristan Hartsfield; good friend Luis Cruz and faithful companion “Gretchen”.  Linda was a loving Mom, Grandmother and Great-grandmother.  She liked to watch Jeopardy every day and she probably knew more answers than most of the contestants.  Linda also liked sports.  She was an avid Cowboys and Spurs fan, if they were on TV she was looking for the channel so she could watch them.  But the Love of her sports life was the Kenedy Lions and Cubs. She was at every game for her kids, grandkids or great-grandchildren. Even though she was born a Karnes City Badger she was a Kenedy Lion at heart.  Linda’s greatest love of all though was Jesus Christ.  She loved attending church, whether it be Karnes City Baptist Church or Kenedy First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed making new friends and truly singing in the choirs.  Whenever the choirs were having special music of any kind, she was right there, inviting her whole family to come and praise God with her.  “Momo Linda” you will be greatly missed, but we know you are in a better place and there is no more suffering.  The Hartsfield Family would like to thank the staff of Methodist Transplant and Surgery Hospital for their care and concern for Linda while she was in San Antonio. We would also like to thank the staff at Otto Kaiser Memorial Hospital in Kenedy Texas and especially the Nurses and Doctors on the 2nd floor for the care that “Momo Linda” received while being there; the staff at Bluebonnet Nursing Home for their kindness and the kindness and compassion by Julie Rivas at New Crown Hospice and Crown Hospice for their compassionate caregivers for making “Momo Linda” comfortable.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, 20250 from 12PM to 2PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Services at 2PM with the Rev. Jeremy Pritchett and Rev. Matt Singleton officiating.  Interment will follow in the Karnes City Cemetery in Karnes City, TX
