Wilson “Leon” Strahan

Wilson “Leon” Strahan, Age 87 of Yorktown, TX, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Cuero, TX.   Leon was born on September 29, 1938, in Houston, TX, to the late Woodrow Wilson and Christine Ray Strahan. Leon went to John H. Reagan High School in the Houston area, where he played football as a star player, and later went on to play for Wharton Jr. College. After college, Leon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years. He went on to build a career as a Subsea Engineer in the oil and gas industry, working for several companies and traveling overseas for projects before retiring from VETCO Oil and Gas. During this time, he earned his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his plane to many places. Leon participated in several years of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo BBQ cookoff with his team, the NOISEY BOYS, showcasing his extraordinary barbequing skills. Upon retirement, he served 1 term as Mayor of Yorktown, TX. Leon enjoyed playing golf and traveling to various vacation areas, especially to Colorado to ski in the mountains. Leon was the owner and operator of Pop’s Leon’s BBQ in Yorktown, where he enjoyed sitting and visiting with his customers.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Christine Ray Strahan and his  brother, Ervin Elliott Strahan.  He is survived by his loving wife Lydia Rossett Strahan, son Robert Deon Strahan (Vicki), step-son,Jerald Rossett (Gail), sister, Karen Robertson, grandchildren, Kristi Korkermer (Chris), Kelly Strahan (Kelli), Justin Rossett (D’Nesha), Cassie Rossett, Jerry Rossett, 7 great grandchildren, his beloved dog, Ginger; and numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends who will greatly miss Leon.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 6PM to 8PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10AM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with JB Farris officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Pallbearers: Jay Cox, Mark Cox, Jerry Rossett, Justin Rossett, Chris Stanley, and Brandon Vasquez.

Honorary Pallbearers: Sarah Farris ,Kristi Korkermer ,Kelly Strahan ,Cassandra Rossett ,Matt Allman.

Gilberto C. De Los Santos

Gilberto C. De Los Santos, Age 95 of Skidmore, TX passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 in Beeville, TX surrounded by his loving family.  Gilberto was born on January 7, 1932 in Runge, TX to the late Juan, Sr. and Felipa Cortez De Los Santos. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, a retired farmer,mechanic and of the Pentecostal Faith.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Juan, Sr. and Felipa Cortez De Los Santos, wife, Esmeralda Ochoa De Los Santos, siblings, Vicenta Rios, Rueben De Los Santos, Baldo De Los Santos, Arnulfo De Los Santos, Juan De Los Santos, Jr., Sammy De Los Santos, Emmit De Los Santos, Juanito De Los Santos, Esperanza De Los Santos Carillo, Aurora De Los Santos Renteria and Luzelida De Los Santos Charles.  He is survived by his children, Eloisa De Los Santos Valdez of Runge, Gilbert De Los Santos of Runge, Mario De Los Santos and wife Alisha of Welder, Juan De Los Santos and wife Raquel of Runge, Roman De Los Santos and wife Elizabeth of Skidmore, 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends who will deeply  miss Gilberto.

Graveside Services with interment will be held Monday, February 23, 2026 at 1PM with Visitation from 12PM to 1PM at the Graveside in the Runge Latin Cemetery.

Marcelino Cuellar Gomez

Marcelino Cuellar Gomez, Age 72 of Kenedy, TX passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family.  Marcelino was born on November 4, 1953 in Reynosa, Mexico to the late Lorenzo and Maria DeJesus Gomez Cuellar.  He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather; retired as a welder from Kenedy Iron Works and of the Catholic Faith.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Maria De Jesus Gomez Cuellar, former wife Mary Cuellar, children, Freddy Cantu, Mary Jane Cantu, siblings, Josefina, Senorina, Lourdes, Lorenzo and Maria De Los Angeles.  He is survived by his children, Judy Cuellar Trevino of Kenedy, Connie Cuellar and Ruben Munoz of Kenedy, Marcel Cuellar of Kenedy, Bernice Reyes and husband Alex of Runge, Peter Cantu of Floresville, Romelda Cantu of Floresville, siblings, Morena, Martin, Ernesto, Maria Del Rosario, Maria De La Luz, Joel, 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and many dear friends and family members who will deeply miss him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from 11AM to 2PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Services starting at 2PM with Pastor Joseph Castillo officiating.  Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Pallbearers will be: Eli Monsevias, Steffee Villarreal, Sophia Trevino, Joseph Villarreal, Noah Leyva, Gilbert Ibarra, Jr. and Joel Ibarra.

Manuel B. Rodriguez

Manuel B. Rodriguez entered into the arms of our Lord & Savior on Tuesday February 10, 2026 at home in Bertram, Texas,  surrounded by his loving family.  Manuel was born on March 9, 1950, to Elias & Alicia Barrientez Rodriguez in Robstown Texas. One of twelve children, Manuel enjoyed being a part of his large family. Manuel also enjoyed ranching and is a cowboy at heart!  He is remembered by many for his jovial nature and his knack for making others laugh. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, singing and spending time hunting with his family. He loved his family and shared his many talents,  connecting with each member through life stories. Manuel was a huge Elvis Presley fan, expressing that fondness through music, dance moves, singing and even his hairstyle. Widespread family memories of watching western movies and TV shows or Elvis movies with Manuel, or singing and dancing with his brothers to Elvis, will forever bring smiles to everyone’s faces.  Manuel had a charisma and spirit that was friendly and welcoming to everyone. He never met a stranger! People seemed naturally drawn to him wherever he went! Manuel was also a favorite of the ladies for his striking good looks and lightheartedness.  In 1960s a special girl caught Manuel’s eye – Sylvia. They were soon married, and together they raised three beautiful daughters: Manuela Alba (Michael), Irene Villatoro (Freddy), and Viviana Cruz (Pedro). Manuel was also the proud grandfather to Miguel Alba (Rachel), Martin Alba, Marissa Alba, Maxine Alba, Caterina Villatoro, Juliane Leathers (Riley),  Theodore Rodriguez (Diana) Cassandra Estrada (Giovanni),  Santiago Estrada (Makayla), Sierra Estrada, and Great Grandfather to Mariana Rodriguez, Mateo Rodriguez, Valentina Navarro and uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Manuel is survived by his siblings Malecio (Connie) Rodriguez, Reyes Rodriguez, Sara Zuniga, Alicia (Louis)Gonzales, and Pablo Rodriguez.  He is preceded in death by his parents Elias & Alicia Barrientez Rodriguez, and his siblings Lupe Rodriguez, Gregorio Rodriguez, Ramiro Rodriguez, Benito Rodriguez, Elias Rodriguez, and Cruz Rodriguez.  Manuel Rodriguez was a man who had many quotes. One favorite was “Dying ain’t much of a living,  so live life but keep God first!”  Manuel rededicated his life to Christ on Tuesday February 3, 2026. GOD IS FAITHFUL! May he savor the joys of heaven, until we meet again!
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 15, 2026 from 1PM to 9PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Services will be Monday, February 16, 2026 at 2PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Manuel Tellez officiating.  Interment will follow in the Loma Alta Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.

Nicolasa Perez Asebedo, Age 88 of Pawnee, TX passed away on February 4, 2026 in San Antonio, TX.  Nicolasa was born on September 10, 1937 in Runge, TX to the late Jose and Alejandra Garcia Perez.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker and of the Pentecostal Faith.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Alejandra Garcia Perez, her husband, Santos Asebedo, 2 sisters and 1 brother.  She is survived by her children, Santos Asebedo of Pawnee, Sulema Ibarra of San Antonio, Samuel Asebedo and wife Maria of Pawnee, 6 Sisters, 4 Brothers, 6 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 9, 2026 from 1PM to 7PM with a Prayer Service at 7PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Services will be Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 12PM in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Pawnee, TX.
