Jimmie Lacy Pogue
Jimmie Lacy Pogue, born on August 16, 1935 in Beeville, TX to James Junius and Ruth Edward Pogue went home to be with the Lord on May 26, 2018 at age of 82. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Gary. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Pogue and son Jim (Yvonne) Pogue, of San Antonio,TX; and daughter, Phyllis (Clayton) Pogue, of Runge,TX.
Included are his 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren (In order by age): Jimmie Lacy Pogue II and wife Andi and daughter Ellie. Tom Pogue, Bronson Vaughan and wife Nichole and sons, Lincoln and Oliver, Mark Pogue and son Jace, Tiffany Vaughan and daughter Haven, J. Boyd Vaughan and wife Kelsey and son Jameson, Philip Vaughan, Mac Pogue and daughter Jodecii, Jenny Pogue and Abby Pogue.
He also leaves behind his sister -in-law Ida Mae Pogue, nieces: Lisa Yaklin and Laura Walters as well as sister-in-law: Peggy McClane and niece Cathy Ellis and nephew, Mac McClane along with other great nieces and nephews.
Lacy was a man of many talents and stories. He had two careers: teaching and ranching; but one great love hwas his wife Dorothy. In spite of handicaps that occurred later in life, he would constantly tell her he was going to waltz her across Texas with her. As an educator for over 50 plus years, Lacy taught, coached and/or was a principal at the King Ranch, Kenedy and his home town of Pawnee. He was also involved in teaching Bible studies at various churches, hospitals, nursing homes and jails. An in all times between he loved to hunt with his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed, as his life filled with action and words made all of us better people and for that we are all grateful. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Funeral services Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at Eckols Chapel with Rev. Trey Hill officiating. Interment to follow in Pawnee Cemetery, Pawnee, TX. Reception following at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Hall in Pawnee, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the the Word Fellowship Building Fund or the PawneesISD.
