Maudie M. Kolinek
Maudie M. Kolinek went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 7,2013 at the Bluebonnet Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Karnes City, Texas, at the age of 96.
Maudie was born April 12, 1916 in the town of Rosebud, Texas, the daughter of Rudolph Frank Fillip and Nora Ball Fillip. On September 7, 1932 she married Clarence Lewis Kolinek in Karnes City, TX. She lived in Karnes County in the El Oso Community until her death.
Maudie traveled with her family in a covered wagon from West Texas to South Texas in the late 1920’s and saw many changes in the world during her lifetime. Maudie will be remembered as a hard working and devoted homemaker who enjoyed the love of her family and the companionship of her friends. She enjoyed crocheting, and in her later years, many friends and acquaintances received her gifts of handmade potholders.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clarence Lewis Kolinek , her parents, her 5 brothers George Fillip, Dale Fillip, William Fillip, Everet Lee Fillip and Edward Fillip, and her 2 sisters Lydia and Margaret.
Maudie was survived by her 2 sisters, Lorena and Annie, her daughter, Janice Fleming and husband Bob of Blanco, TX, grandchildren Kristi Fleming, Gary Fleming, and Bobby Fleming and wife Nina, and great-grandchildren Millicent and Milo Fleming.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 14, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Services will be held 3 P.M Friday February 15, 2013 at the Eckols Funeral Chapel with Rev. Virginia Frnka officiating. Burial will follow in the Kenedy Cemetery.
