Jose DeLa Rosa

Jose DeLa Rosa, age 95 of  Kenedy died August 22, 2010 in a Karnes City nursing home.  He was born in Mexico January 6, 1915.  He came to the US and worked on ranches most of his life.  He married Rita Salinas and she preceded him in death.  He is survived by stepchildren Rosa and husband Enrique Carrasco of Kenedy, Mark DeLa Rosa, and grandsons Johnny and Chris Carrasco both of Kenedy.

Rosary will be recited Wednesday, Aug. 25th. At 7 PM at the Eckols Chapel.  Mass will be at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be in the Sacred Heaart Cemetery.

Jason Allen White-Adams

Jason A. White-Adams “Jay White”, son of James and Darlene Adams.  Jason was born on June 10, 1984 in San Antonio, TX and passed away on August 19, 2010 in Dallas, TX.  Jason attended Karnes City High School and moved to Austin, TX to complete his senior year and graduate from Travis B. Williams High School.  After moving to Dallas, TX he pursued a degree in business and music production at El Centro Community College.  Jason’s passion was writing and producing music.  He is survived by his parents, James and Darlene, brothers, Austin, Nicholas, and Allen Ray Luna,  and grandmothers Dora F. Molina and Margaret Kollekowski. 

Family Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm  Tuesday ,August 24, 2010 at the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will then be recited at 7:00pm  at the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gabriel Kamienski officiating.  Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 10:00am at the Eckols Fueneral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Pogue officiating.  Interment will be in the Falls City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Austin Adams, Nicholas Adams, Jeff Angell, Rusty Angell, Allen Ray Luna, and Gerry Molina. Honorary pallbearers Lonnie Saenz, Isaac Gonzales, Darrell Buckner, Charlie Alvear, Clifton Spencer.

Elsa “Elsie” Albiar

Elsie age 81 of Kenedy died August 16, 2010 in Kenedy.  She the daughter of Cesario and Sabina Cerda Guerra, who preceded her in death along with her husband Ynes Albiar, Sr., Sister Ester Gonzales, Brothers Edmundo and Eliiazar.  She is survived by  her children Elvia (Francisco) Trevino of Kenedy, Angelita and (Louis) Trevino of Kenedy, Ynes (Hope) Albiar, Jr Kenedy, Alvaro (Sylvia) Albiar of Victoria, Domingo (Emily) Albiar and Edward Albiar both of Kenedy.  Brothers Enrique “Henry” Guerra & Efrain “Pine” Guerra both of Kenedy.

Prayer service Wednesday August 18th. at 7 PM at the Eckols Chapel.  Funeral services will be Thursday August 19th. at 3:00 PM.  Interment Loma Alta Cemetery.

Dawn J. Polasek

Dawn J. Polasek age 80  of Hobson, Texas was born September 30, 1929 in Eveleth, Minn to Al and Wennie Beckman Bratulich who preceded her in death.  She is also preceded in death by her brother Al Bratulich and daughter in law Sandra E. Polasek. 

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Thomas R. Polasek of Hobson, TX.  Six children Cindy Gowen of Tulsa, OK, Mike and his wife Sandy I. Polasek of Nixon, TX, Zac and his wife Jan Polasek of Oklahoma City, OK, Kathy Polasek of Hobson, Fr. Jeff Polasek of Tahlequah, OK, Angela and her husband Gary Cox of Sallisaw, OK. 14 Grandchildren, James Gowen, SSG Daniel Gowen, Jason Polasek, Jacob Polasek, Joshua Polasek, Jackie Polasek, Stefanie Dodson, Brooke Polasek, Seth Polasek, Denise Pooser, Jennifer Teague, Bobbie Jo Teague, Trevor Teague, Katelynn Cox 2 Step-grandchildren Justin Roach and  Nathan Morris and 18 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be held Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hobson, TX with Fr. Gabriel Kamienski officiating.  The Mass will be recited Monday, August 23rd. at 10:00 AM at the church with Fr. Jeff Polasek officiating.  Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers Jason Polasek, Jacob Polasek, Joshua Polasek, Trevor Teague, James Gowen, and Daniel Gowen.

Evelyn Looney

Evelyn Odell Looney, age 86, of Karnes City, died Aug. 15, 2010. She was born on the Hoff Ranch in Pawnee on Oct. 19, 1923 to James L. and Inez Hoff Looney, and she was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her brother, James D. “Jake” and his wife Charlene Looney of Karnes City; nieces, Jayma and husband James Wood and Melanie and husband Tracy Witte of Karnes City; great-nephews and nieces, Jim and wife Tracy Wood, Laurie and husband Anthony Alvarez, Tyler Witte and Tara Witte; and great-great nephew, Brock Wood.
She graduated from Pawnee High School and retired from First Nichols National Bank where she worked for over 60 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kenedy. Evelyn has resided in Karnes City the past few years, after spending most of her life in Kenedy.
The family will receive friends at the Eckols Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 17, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at the Eckols Chapel with Rev. John Wheat officiating. Interment will be in the Karnes County Memorial Park.

Elizabeth Ann Richmond

Elizabeth Ann Richmond, 53, of Beeville passed away Friday, August 13, 2010. She was the daughter of W.C. and Doris Reader of Runge, TX.

Mrs. Richmond graduated from Texas Lutheran College and received her master’s degree from Incarnate Word of San Antonio.

She began her teaching career as a coach and teacher for Skidmore ISD. From there Mrs. Richmond became at teacher at Coastal Bend College where she taught for the past 27 years and received the teacher of the year award several times.          

Ann was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Beeville, Texas. She was also a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society and served as president of the Gamma Omicron Chapter.  She also served on the St Mary’s Academy School Board.

Ann married Chuck Richmond on August 12, 1995 in Beeville, TX.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents.

Mrs. Richmond is survived by her family including husband, Chuck Richmond, of Beeville, TX;  and 3 daughters, Jessica Pospisil (Josh) of Katy, TX, Lauren Richmond of Beeville, TX and Mikala Richmond of Beeville, TX.  She is also survived by numerous friends.

A memorial service has been planned for Thursday, August 19, 2010 at 6 P.M. at the Faith Lutheran Church of Beeville Texas.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a Coastal Bend College Scholarship Fund in Ann Richmond’s name or the organization of the donor’s choice.

Willie H. Esse, Jr.

Willie H. Esse, Jr. Age 84  died Aug. 11, 2010 at his home in Campbellton, TX.    Willie Esse graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1943.  Served in the Army from 1945 to 1947 and was a veteran of the Korean War.  He married Margaret Benke June 21, 1947 and resided in the Fashing, Peggy Community.  He was a farmer rancher raising commerical and registered cattle and show calves.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing and won numerous awards, and he also enjoyed the Livestock Show circuit. Though he was in a wheelchair for 57 years from polio, he thoroughly embraced life.  He was a life long member of the Fashing United Methodist and served on their board.  He was also on the Board of Directors of First Nichols National Bank in  Kenedy, TX.  for many years.

He was born March 18, 1926 in San Antonio to Willie H., Sr. And Mary Retzloff Esse.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers James Esse and Roy Lee Esse. He is survived by his wife Margaret Benke Esse of Campbellton, TX, Son Lyn and his wife Robin Esse of Whitsett, TX.  Sisters Mildred Giese of Campbellton, TX, Bernice and husband Albert Schroeder of Campbellton, TX, and Janie Froehner of San Antonio, TX.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Eckols Chapel in Kenedy, TX with Rev. Donna Martin officiating with Bill McReynolds delivering the eulogy.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bugs Wood, George Emmit Miles, John Morgan O’Brien, Punch Humphries, Bill McReynolds, Richard Wehman, Joe Finley, and Murray Burnham.   Memorials may be sent to Fashing United Methodist Church. 7272 FM 99 Campbellton, TX 78008.  In celebration of his life the family will host a visitation and reception at Campbellton Hall following the grave side services
