Elvira Sandoval Monsevais

Elvira Sandoval Monsevais, a lifelong resident of Kenedy, TX, entered eternal rest at her home on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the age of 93.  She was born on April 22, 1932 in Goliad to the late Trinidad and Julia Cortez Sandoval.  She married Urbano Monsevais in 1949; they made their home in Kenedy and raised ten children.  She retired as a nurses aide from John Paul II Nursing Home, and later in life volunteered at the Karnes County Christian Thrift Center in Kenedy.  Elvira was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She was devout member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and the Guadalupana organization.   She spent her time enjoying simple pleasures such as gardening, bird-watching, sewing and cooking for her family.  The doors of her home never met a stranger, regardless of the day and time.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad and Julia Cortez Sandoval; husband, Urbano Monsevais; son, Remijio Monsevais; siblings, Mary Sandoval and Joe Sandoval.  Elvira is survived by:  her children, RoseAnn Garza of Kenedy, Robert Monsevais of Kenedy, June Lee (George) Garza of Kenedy, Daniel (Diana) Monsevais of Karnes City, Irma Guzman (Ricky Carrasco) of Kenedy, Elias (Norma) Monsevais of Kenedy, JoAnn (George) Perez of Beeville, Sylvia Monsevais of Kenedy, and David (Vanessa) Monsevais of Kenedy; siblings, Jesse Sandoval of Kenedy, Robert Sandoval of Deer Park, and Doris Rodriguez of Kenedy; forty grandchildren, seventy-nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who will deeply miss her.
The Holy Rosary will be recited Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 7:00pm in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Monday, March 23, 2026 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Ploch officiating.  Interment will follow at Loma Alta Cemetery in Kenedy, TX.
Pallbearers will be:  Martin Monsevais, Daniel Monsevais Jr., Trino Monsevais, Justin Monsevais, Larry Guzman Jr., Steven Monsevais, George Perez Jr., Eli Monsevais, Victor Monsevais, and Aaron Monsevais.
