Garry Alan Krisch

Garry Alan Krisch, 78, peacefully passed away on November 30, 2025. He was born in Kenedy, Texas on August 21, 1947 to Frank and Valeria (Tam) Krisch. His early years were spent in Kenedy until they traveled along side his father’s Air Force career including a few years in Japan, they then returned to Karnes County and he graduated from Kenedy High School.  After graduation, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Japan and Ft. Worth. He would tell stories of dressing the pilots in their high-altitude flight suits over Vietnam and his love flying was born.  In 1968, Garry married Cynthia Crowder and they were married 57 years.  They settled in Pleasanton, Texas in 1983 and lived there until 2020. At that time, they returned to his family farm where they were close to all three of their daughters and families.

Garry retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 2015 and enjoyed many years farming and ranching in Kenedy when the idea of living in the remote areas of Sanderson was vetoed by Cindy.  He earned his pilot’s license in the 1990’s and spent many days flying about South Texas. One of his favorite things was being PawPaw to his grandkids and passed on his love of Blue Bell ice cream to most of them.

Garry is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Val, his infant daughter Cathryn, his brother David, and grandson Wyatt Field. He was also preceded by his loyal companions, Killer, Max and Gypsy.  He is survived by wife, Cynthia, daughters; Valerie (Patrick) Griffin of Kenedy, Texas, April (Jason) Davidson of Coy City, Texas and Kelly (Cody) Field of Kenedy, Texas.  Grandchildren:  Austin (Ally) Griffin of San Antonio, Texas, Meaghan Griffin of New Braunfels, Texas, Case Griffin (Bre) of Kyle, Texas, Haylee, Kenedy, and Sloan Field of Kenedy, Texas and McCrae and Madelynne Davidson of Coy City, Texas and Great Granddaughter Arabella and numerous other family and friends.

The family would like to extend our gratitude for the care extended by Trinity Hospice, Kaiser Home Health and also to Melissa Bryan, Diana G. Torrez and Norma Cardona. He was always in the best of hands when we couldn’t be there and our worry was a little less.

Serving as Pallbearers are Patrick Griffin, Austin Griffin, Case Griffin, Jason Davidson, McCrae Davidson, Cody Field, Sloan Field.

Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters and his nephew, Ben Krisch.

A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Eckols Funeral Home in Kenedy, Texas with a rosary following. A graveside burial service with Military Honors will follow at the Kenedy Cemetery on December 6, 2025 at 11am with a reception following for fellowship for all.
