Hartford “Sonny” Shoemake

IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Hartford Shoemake
Born: November 5, 1940
Departed: April 26, 2026
Hartford “Sonny” Shoemake was called home to be with Jesus and his loved ones on April 26, 2026, the birthday of his beloved wife, Sharon.   Sonny was born on November 5, 1940, in Frio County to Evelyn Mann Shoemake and Hartford Shoemake.   He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Sara Mae, Francis, Ruby and Linda Taylor; his brothers, Paul white, Lloyd and Ronnie Jenkins; his wife, Sharon; and his life partner, Shirley.  Sonny, like his father, was a simple man who loved his family and friends with his whole heart.  He found his greatest joy in hunting, fishing, sitting in the yard BBQing, and spending time with those he loved.  He had a special love for children and cherished every moment with them.  He was especially proud of his daughter, Pam, who was his shadow growing up.  His grandchildren meant the world to him – Tyler and Samantha.  He beamed with pride watching Tyler play football, and when Samantha was born, he treasured every moment holding his granddaughter.  Later, his great-grandchildren – Weston, Aubree, and Hallie – brought him endless joy and pride.  He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Sue Seiler, and husband Spunky; his grandson, Tyler Seiler, and wife Kirbi, along with their children Weston, Aubree and Hallie; and his granddaughter, Samantha Seiler.  He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara Frye and husband Darrel, and Denia Geiger and husband Darrell (Debo), as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on May 30, 2026, at 1:00pm at Choke Canyon State Park (Calliham), 358 Recreation Rd 8, 78007.  A BBQ meal will be shared as family and friends gather to celebrate Sonny’s life through pictures, memories, his favorite music, and love.  Please inform the gate attendant that you are attending Sonny’s celebration of life; there will be no entry fee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial dedications may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at http://www.stjude.org in memory of Hartford “Sonny”
