Maynette L. Anderson

Maynette L. Anderson peacefully passed away the afternoon of November 29, 2023, at the age of 87 in the Haven Oaks Assisted Living in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on September 9, 1936 to Henry Humphries and Nora Armstrong Humphries in Oakville, Texas. She was the middle child with an older sister and younger brother. Growing up, Maynette’s dream was to always be a wife and mother. She achieved that dream at 17 years old when she married Sonny Hahn. They were blessed with 5 children which they loved and raised to be successful, compassionate, loving adults who have become parents and grandparents. Maynette was a devoted mother and was a homemaker until 1977 when she entered the workforce being employed at the Mockingbird Motel and Greyhound Bus Station. She always enjoyed talking to people whether they were friends or strangers especially if they had a baby or small children. All ages were drawn to her warm, loving smile. Her longest employment started in 1981 at Karnes Land Title Company where she liked the challenge of researching titles and documents. In her free time, Maynette also worked at Wal-Mart part-time and was an expert seamstress who could sew just about anything from barbie doll clothes to baby blankets to formal gowns. She worked here until she met and then married Bill Anderson on March 3, 2001. Maynette and Bill enjoyed a full life of family, retirement, community service, and church membership until Bill’s death in 2008. Maynette never waivered in her love for her Lord and children especially her own family including her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and all their families. Her greatest pride and joy came from being a caretaker of others.

Maynette is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Anderson, her parents, Charles Henry and Nora Armstrong Humphries as well as her sister, Geraldyne Edna Spencer and her brother, Charles Preston “Punch” Humphries. Maynette is survived by her children, Teresa (Bill) Hyde of Amarillo, TX; Ronny (Debra) Hahn of Kenedy, TX; Jeff (Rhonda) Hahn of Rockport, TX; Kenny (Shari) Hahn of Boerne, TX; Suzy (Joel) Ponton, of San Antonio, TX; twelve grandchildren: James (Tara) Hyde, Julie (Jason) Smith, Austen Hahn, Tabitha (Garrett) Schulz, Clifford (Nicole) Dial, Shannon (Dusty) Burks, Katie (Justin) Ripple, Matthew (Alyce) Hahn, Robert Ruybal, Levi Rogers, Brian Hartman, and Savannah Hartman.
