Gilbert Vasquez Puente, of Kenedy, born June 12, 1942 to Arnulfo Puente and Saragosa Vasquez Puente passed away on February 3, 2020 at the age of 77. Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Cora Elizondo; brothers: Martin, Lupe, Valentin, Alfonso and John Puente. He is survived by his wife: Gloria H. Puente of Kenedy, TX; son: Rick Puente and the lovely memory of his deceased wife Diane Small Puente of Canyon Lake, TX; grandchildren: Joshua Adame of San Antonio, Madison and Kaylee Puente of Canyon Lake, TX; sisters: Tila Solis of Kenedy,TX and Fane Lopez of Edinburg, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on  Friday, February 7, 2020 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. at Eckols Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Norbert Hermann officiating. Interment to follow  in the Loma Alta Cemetery. Pallbearers: Danny Puente, Michael Solis, Rene Solis, Johnny Puente, Donald Puente and Phillip Hernandez. Honorary Pallbearers: David Puente and Martin Puente, Jr.
